So far the DLC is purely optional, for both OMD! games.
I prefer to support good games and the companies that make them, Orcs Must Die! 2 is one of those. Heck the base game was only $15, I'll gladly pay the cheap price for the DLC considering all the fun I'm having with this game. Or you could wait for a sale of course, but just blanketing any DLC as -> Sale is just silly.
okay, now imagine you had a hot stripper
the game is the hot stripper
and the dlc is that stripper spraying whip cream on her♥♥♥♥♥♥and inviting you over for a taste.
I am totaly angry with this dlc, there is one map i like to play in endless mode and they did not used it ....
DLC sucks and destroys community mods :(
I do not enjoy feeling as if i were taken advantage of. The game was good but was a minimal improvement over the original. The only real improvement was adding multiplayer. While adding nothing of importance they broke controller support and added the worst voice chat system I've ever used in a game.
After doing almost nothing to improve the game they still pump out DLC. This is unforgivable. I am not against DLC. In fact I love adding content to games. The problem is if the content should have been in the base game, is minimal content for the price or is being added inspite of the game needing fixes first. Orcs Must Die 2 goes against all of these. There is no reason for there to be paid DLC for this game.
Because of their greedy, money first, customer last mentality I will never buy another one of their products. Companies like this are the reason people torrent and pirate games in the first place.
I hate the mentality that DLC is "stuff that should have been in the base game". Why do people feel like this? There's a period before release where games cannot be worked on any longer. Would you prefer they make nothing else? Delay a year until they make all of the would-be DLC? This is hardly greedy. If you want greed, look at console gaming and the habit of putting content on the disc and then paying for the DLC unlock code.
I would rather have waited 3 more months and buy the whole pack for 40$ or whatever the are pricing it, but not all games get a GOTY edition...
But comparing the 2 DLCs released so far for OMD2 with each other, I'd say the latest Family Ties DLC is quite, quite lack-luster as compared to the Fire and Water pack. And frankly, I got dissappointed with the new Teleport Ring and the Stone Staff, they are absolutely useless. The Fear Trinket is decent, but then again I'd rather keep Mana/Trap Reset with me. Maps were also way easy.
And just 2 Endless conversions = lame.
Hoping for some free endless conversions at the very least. Or a custom map-maker.
But overall if someone is considering to buy the Family Ties DLC, I'd say don't buy it as of yet. Wait for sale. Fire and Water is absolutely worth it, coz the traps you get are remarkably good.
Teleport Ring seemed more useful as a weapon than a form of mobility, and in that regard is like a Boom Barrel that costs mana instead of coin.
as stated somewhere above here its a 15 euro for the vanilla
i bought mine for 19 euro for the game + 2 exp
LMAO the Staff is♥♥♥♥♥♥if you are a big game player, trust me...but then again that's your opinion man. I doubt anyone would play with the Staff when you can take down Trolls and Ogres and pretty much anyone in seconds with the Crossbow. And the Ring doesn't do that much damage as you are exggarating it to do.
Plus the Portal trap was specially meant for Endless. And the Web-Trap is pretty darn good. Dart I don't use it for damage, coz it's meant to add extra combo point for you. And not even 1 map reminded me of a copy-paste, in either DLCs. It's just that that Family Ties maps were way easier than F&W.
Overall Fire and Water > Family Ties, deal with it.
