Best HQ Sector
So which sector do you guys like to put your player HQ in? Personally I like Contorted Dominion. There are 3 all-ship shipyards within 3 sectors in any direction and tons of military hardware producing factories, military outposts and equipment docks withing the same distance, as well as Atreus, Strong Arms and Dukes (if you're friendly with them) and you can just use the hub to link it to anywhere else that might be handy, oh and its called Contorted Dominion-it HAS to be your universal empire's home sector just for that name. So where else would be good according to you guys?

I'm thinking of dumping it in the Hub and then link that to my important factory sectors.

Exactly where I put mine. But anyone thinking of doing that should remember to place it of the line of travel of any traffic through the hub.

u could connect a few xenos sector and terrans sectors in the hub and watch the fireworks

Connecting the Northern-most gate as one pair and then connecting Segaris gives you a chance to allow the Terran fleets to respond if Xenon invade your hub ;)

I tried it and each time the Xenon come in they hit a Terran Trader and the Terrans then jump in with a suitable response ;) I don't even need to help them. Just collect the floating wares later.

I dump mine in the reward sector.

Makes a nice little corner of the universe that's entirely mine.

If you're friendly with everyone, that's dandy. If hostile with Terrans, pirates or both, I'd recommend rerouting the S and E gates to the hub with an Argon Gate with heavy traffic in for good measure.

I dont stay in the sector anymore though. Having +60 TS that's landing and jumping at any given time = X3 AP autopilot "ballet" with ships smashing into eachother. Sigh....

Other sectors that's good would be Aldrin 2 if you're on friendly terms and want to build ships. All the food you need to build, plus megnir with its ample silicon asteroids close by.

I did like smakkz and put my hq in the 'breaking grounds' reward sector (I chose to name it Light of Hope). I actually did not play this game for a year waiting for the addition of the plots so that i could put my headquarters there.
Also the second headquarters that is gifted by the corporation troubles plot is still in a TL waiting for placement in my game, be aware though the second HQ is just a storage facility and will probably serve best as the trade centre of an empire, originally I wanted this one in the hub.
Unofortunately, the hub in my game serves as part of my marine boarding training regime, linked only to pirate and yaki sectors I have multi race patrols and many choice targets to practice my own brand of piracy upon, does not lend itself to being safe, hence my hesitancy to place structures there.
I could actually use some suggestions for a 'trade centre' that is not my sector and does not require linking to the hub in order to be multi race and universe central but also neutral ground and relatively safe.

I'd argue for Aladna Hill/Light of Heart, all races are within 3 sectors distance except the Paranid, who are 5 sectors away I think. Back when playing TC, I used Avarice (then an unknown sector) as a Space Fuel hub and it turned over in the region of 20-35 million credits every hour at only 36 stations in one complex, so that area in general is great for a trade hub.

i would vote for any cleared unknown sector (not an ufocused drive unknown) nobody bothers my stations there and its further isolated if you route one of the hubs gates to it...oh and make sure it has only one gate in and out like mine does

Hub or Player Sector.

I prefer Savage Spur as homebase linked directly to Hub from Paranid side. I feel myself at home there xD

Considering The Shallows, it is beautiful and quite peaceful. :butterfly:
Also it is quite large and has Split and Boron assets in reach, most of my stationary assets are in the south-western territories anyway...
This is likely not the best thing to give for an advice to others, after all that place is a remote colony with just a small amount of things going on.

Mine is in the unknown sector, east of Unseen domain. I own a lot of complex in sectors around it : barren shores for hightech, perpetual sins for M7M missile, spring of belief for terran weaponery, unseen domain for crystals, desecrated skies for space fuel, Moo Kye's revenge for space weed. Thanks to the HUB, I connect it to mines of fortune (commonwealth weaponery) and Antigone Memorial (Shields)

For me it is the Unknown sector right next to Legends Home. That is just one sexy and comfortable place.

I have tried several sectors and putting it in the HUB seems to be the best place. Re-Aligning gates allows you to connect into the tech you want.

+1 there, that is where my first large complex was built in TC. I was wary at first due to it being called and unknown sector, but it was empty and had plenty of traffic between gates so I said what the heck. Worked better than I ever hoped.
