Fun to play with girlfriend ?
So my girlfriend wants to start playing a game with me ..... SWEET :)

But, I must find the perfect game haha

She saw me and a friend play the ESO early access and liked the MMO feeel of it (magic, playing with a friend, big land, story, big cities).... unfortunatly that gam would be 120$ for the both of us to buy.

At this moment, we started playing Torchlight II (I told her MMO's are always a big more complicated and Torchlight II is a good game to start with! ) She is really liking it!

Would Everquest II, if anyone has had a an experience like this with Everquest or thinks it's a great mmo to start with ?

I'd say the most important is :

- Flashy colours and awsome original magical setting
- Great storytelling
- Noob accessible combat
- Fun quests to play with someone

Thanks :)

I can't really give you a good answer. But might I suggest searching youtube for videos of gameplay? That might be your best bet.

There are a lot, lot, lot of couples who play EQ2 together. Since it's F2P, it can't hurt for the two of you to try it. If you like it, keep playing -- if not, get something else :-)

I played EQ2 for about 8 years and i met my Gf about 2 years ago and i got her hooked on it as well! The best thing is for you both to start a new game, pick a class and race you both like (so you start in the same area) both play something different but Quest with each other, make it fun for both of you! and only play that 1 toon with each other, start an alt you can level alone in case she or you wanna play something else for abit! me and my gf play Diablo 3 right now and alot of league of legends. its way more fun with someone you love!

You'll prolly both have a lot of questions, mind you. There's an EQ2 Wikia that can answer many of them.

If you end up on the Unrest server, you can also hit me up (main character: Ulivia). I'm always happy to answer questions, and, especially with lowbies, help with gear.

Also keep in mind that Everquest Next will be out sometime this summer. It will also be F2P.

I have been playing EQ1 since it was less than a year old, then I switched to EQ2 when it was released and have been playing since. There are basic mechanical differences between EQ1 and EQ2. While EQ1 has been retrofitted a bit, there is only so much that can be done with the game engine. In my view, EQ2 is easier to play and it also has better graphics.

I think that EQ2 is a good place to start because they make it easy for noobies and there is a TON of content already available. Once you become aquanted, there is deeper content to explore as well.

yeah im looking for something simple!

Basicly the choices are
SWTOR (for the story elements mostly)
and TERA

I wanna make the right choice before trying a game haha make sure the first time she plays an MMO she really likes it

I have played Rift (both as a beta tester and after it was released), but never really got into it. The only aspect of the game that I really thought was fun, was the area events. Some of which roam across the zone. The full game experience however, never hooked me. My experience with Guildwars (both 1 & 2) was much the same. And World of Warcraft turned me off because I just didn't like the way it looked.

While I cut my teeth on EQ1, I found that EQ2 was a substantial over-all improvement. I generally prefer more realistic graphics, which is why WoW never interested me. EQ2, while still retaining some toonishness, had an over-all more realistic flare. For me that helped with immersion. Throw in the substantial range of content and story lines, crafting, special events throughout the year, and I think you have a winner.

For MMO gaming I have a preference for fantasy, so I have not played SWTOR. Nor have I played Tera. The graphics there look very good for the most part, but the F2P elements is much better in EQ2. My vote goes to Everquest 2. I think both of you will enjoy it.

Well, I was going to write up a few paragraphs of stuff, but Mehtuus pretty much says everything I was going to say.

The exception: I also played Age of Conan for a while. I loved the realistic graphics and some of the combat systems. As a female player, however, there was a lot of it that didn't appeal to me. And don't get me wrong -- I love the Conan stuff and have read all Howard's books, &c. &c. &c. -- but there are distinct game designer and developer choices in there that made me feel unwelcome as a female player. But that's just me.

EQ2 was something I played a long time ago, and have recently returned to; the more realistic graphics, the variety of classes, and so on are great. Other bonuses: you can choose "appearance" armor to set up how your equipment looks no matter what you're actually wearing; you have homes you can flesh out as you like; there are other games to play within the game like Legends of Norrath (a card game) or Dungeon Maker (where you set up your own dungeons and others can run through them); a really deep tradeskill/crafting system; and there are more than 8000 quests to do and a rich lore to support them ... it's where I'd go.

I don't know about other servers but Oasis is a good one, you can be alone, good amount of population, group with your guild, etc.
