Would have bought it even if it was 40-50$.
Also a lot of posts saying they don't even want to play tl2 because of graphics or mods. I kinda shake my head at these comments. Modding is optional and the graphics aren't even bad.
Also, how dare they let me mod. Nothing good ever came from modding. Nothing. MOBA? ♥♥♥♥. CS? ♥♥♥♥. (etc etc)
Torchlight is more like Diablo's little brother. Diablo and Diablo 2 inspired it. Its like it grew because of it wanting to be like it but better and you can kind of get that feeling from the game like the creators put their heart into it. Diablo 3 looks and feels like that guy thats been out of touch with his family for a while and went into alcholism. XD I like my description personally. But I really don't see why people are so attached to a company rather than the people that actually you know created the francise.
But at the end of the day, COUGH inferno, you're getting murdered by unfair enemies.
To be fair, the Diablo III hate on Torchlight II related parts of the internet is just as bad. Here and on the Runic forum, as soon as anyone mentions anything about Diablo III in a positive light, possibly suggesting that certain elements may improve Torchlight II, they get shot down with a bunch of venom and hate.
They're two sides of the same coin. Diablo and Torchlight are similar games, both with passionate userbases. Everyone need to take a step back and realize that different people have different preferences, and let each other get on with enjoying their game of choice, without getting into schoolyard-style arguments over which game is better and why.
Of course, this is the internet and that's never going to happen, but I can dream, can't I?
