Should I play Vanilla or Modded?

Now, even though I have around 26 hours in the game, I want to start fresh. When I used to play, I used Synergies Mod and a couple other ones that were a bit cheaty (More drops and Gold/XP) I also used a mod that increase mob spawns. I heard that Synergies made the game way easier than it's supposed to be, and I really want to start playing the game again but i'm not sure what I should play the game with. Hopefully there's a couple mods that aren't too game effecting, but still add something unique to the game. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you to all who view and have time to reply.

the thing about mods is that one you go mods you most probably wont go back so if you dont play vanilla before picking them up you probably wont do it AND enjoy it because simply most mods improve the game or more it more enjoyable in some ways (more bag space being a prime example).

Your own decision. Apart from being able to claim "I played vanilla" and participate in such threads there is no advantage to playing vanilla over mods.

I play Vanilla cause i like to play games without mods, but thats just my opinion^^

I Have not used any mods yet, want to get to ++ before i use them so i can experience the game a bit more before i start modding, thats just a personal prefence though.

I say get through the story on vanilla first. Like I beat it with a friend on the medium difficulty(I forgot what it was called please forgive me) but we ran through it and didnt really pay attention to the story. So now I am playing on elite difficulty by myself and paying attention to the story and its really damn hard but I gotta finish what I started so once I am done with that I will go to the modded version. :D

as already suggested above, play vanilla first, then move on to mods. if you're looking for a good mod, why not go for the biggest and most endorsed one, Synergy mod
