I just install the patch the same with Steam? I have already googled but found nothing real about this: (
I just read ... huh? I thought Vista is not supported by Microsoft, the manufacturer of XCOM have since turned anything?

My OS is Windows XP SP 2 (32-bit system). I know this thing is almost obsolete, but for the moment the above fix should do the trick. Been trying to find the right time to update to Windows 7 these days. Lots of data backup lol.

I've found that adjusting the volume on this laptop causes any and every program to alt-tab out to the desktop, and I suspect that adjusting volume while XCOM loads is locking some required file (the first three times I played, the girlfriend had used it and muted or turned down the volume, and I didn't think to adjust volume before starting). I'm downloading one last time to test this theory. If it doesn't work, I will have to ask for my money back so I can go out and buy a hard copy.
This is the third time i'm installing the game and I'll ask for my money back if I can not access
