The game uses SteamCloud. The root of the save game folder path on Linux is "~/.local/share"

thanks :) (silly me).

being sitting on that ironman game for a good year now.
I better do a warm up.

More specifically, it's
~/.local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM/ for Enemy Unknown and
~/.local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM/XEW/ for Enemy Within

Saves are in the savedata/ folder in XCOM/ or XCOM/XEW/.

Or rather, I hope they're using $XDG_DATA_HOME if that is set instead of the default ~/.local/share.

"~/.local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM/savedata"
since my steam is installed on a seperate HDD I was poking at it like an idiot, thinking it would be there :\

There is an issue with sync between linux-windows. Linux has 2 folders, 'saveData' and 'SaveData'. Syncing on linux is being at Savedata but you cant see them in game. I move saves from SaveData to saveData and is OK. (debian testing)

This was an issue with Steam client not being case sensitive, we logged the bug with Valve and it has been fixed in a client update.

As of this evening, I've had to do what the previous poster did. Sadly, the graphics are failing for me in LinuxMint 17.1, but it solved my missing cloud sync'd saves from Windows and Mac machines.

If you had previous saves the Steam client won't fix the issue, however if you never had saves installed on your Linux machine the case will now be correct.

When would the Steam client have been updated to resolve this issue? I installed this particular build about 2 weeks ago along with a LinuxMint 17.1 install. I dunno that a Radio HD 4850 will even run the graphics, but I could at least re-install to see if the sync'd save games that DO work on Mac and Win7 come over.

Some point in October/November I think.

I fixed it by deleting .local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM/XEW/savedata and using the command
"sudo ln -s .local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM/XEW/SaveData/ .local/share/feral-interactive/XCOM/XEW/savedata" (without quotes). This creates a symbolic link so when the game looks for "savedata", finds "SaveData", where the files are and keep being updated to SteamCloud ;)

You shouldn't need to sudo that, though

This issue should only occur if you have Windows save game files from before Valve fixed the case sensitive bug with the clients. Any new users should not be effected.
