AGoD is not running

I got the code of this game from my friend and when it was done downloading I launched it. So it pops up a CD Key or Activation Key and I copy pasted it. Now when I clicked OK, it does nothing. I tried to relaunch the game and it still won't pop up. Please help me D:

OS that you are trying to run it on?
Any logs or error messages (print screens)?

No Logs or errors showing up and I'm using Windows, if that's what you want to hear?
Oh and everytime I try to run it. It just shows the Steam Updates, meaning it closes the program by itself

What version of Windows? xp, 7, 8, etc.

And are you saying that Steam keeps trying to update the game?

Can you also try something?
Go to your game list in Steam and right-click on aGoD, then "Properties", then the "Local Files" tab, click on "Verify Integity of Game Cache".
What is the result of that? Any name of any files, number of missing files, etc

you might have to do a windows update (one of those automatic ones) because when i had to reinstall windows Gnomoria refused to work UNTIL i did the windows updates

@ Xerkis: Windows XP, the one that pops up after you close the game, and it says that 1 file is missing and it will be reaquired

Then that is the issue - aGoD can not run on XP must be on Windows 7. it has to do with the Direct-X version used by aGoD and that it is not supported by XP.
A lot of people keep coming across this issue.
