GOG Release?

Has anyone heard of any news of PGI doing a GOG release? I have MW5 & Battletech + DLCs on GOG and it would be cool to have Clans on the same platform as well. If I'm not mistaken, there was also a period between Epic/Steam/GOG launching on each respective platform, and I wonder if Clans will be released in the same manner.

This is something that I also have been wondering. There's no GOG page available for this game currently so I hope they don't skip GOG release.

I too have all of my Battletech games in GOG/Galaxy. I asked on the Discord and was informed that nothing has been officially announced. I'm hoping they will release it on GOG.

Gamescom trailer didn't have GOG logo at the end sadly. Only Steam and Epic.
It would be nice to know for sure if this game skips GOG release at launch only or if it's something that will never happen. I'm still hoping for a GOG release at the same time as Steam and Epic but currently it seems like it's not happening. There isn't even a page for this game on GOG.com.

MW is the only franchise I'll buy games on release or even pre-order. But this time I'll hold off to see if it gets a GoG release. I'm trying to move away from buying anything that I cannot store offline myself for when the services go down or take them away. We haven't even seen prices yet.

Seconded on that one. One of the first few games I ever got to play was an old copy of the original Mechwarrior 2 trilogy. I've been hooked on both Mechwarrior and Battletech ever since. But I also HATE any form of DRM. So I almost exclusively buy my games on GOG and I'm going to be damned disappointed of, for some dumb reason, PGI doesn't do a GOG release for Clans. I got Mech5 over there and I can't see a good reason why they would not sell it over there too. But for some reason they have not announced it over there too.

If it doesn't come to GOG it would mean that the GOG version didn't sell enough to make it worth it for them. Hopefully they eventually decide to release to GOG though.

I think that like Mercs, they have a contract with EGS/Steam to keep it exclusive for one year and once that year is up, then GOG releases it. its a marketing strategy that is disliked by alot of customers such as myself.

I bought Mercs on GOG on 5/27/21, there was no exclusivity period.

edit: ok I saw the Steam release date before I checked the EGS date. If its coming to Steam in a week though, there is no reason they couldn't have launched it on GOG imho.

It will come to GOG. dont you worry. the problem is getting permission from PGI to release the asset on GOG. Thats what I think

the chances of GoG release is slim because of EGS. sense GoG has a no DRM thing and that tim seeney requires everything released on EGS to use EOS/EGS on all platforms (ps4/5, xb, steam, switch) if it releases on EGS then every.. version... has to have it in order to stay on EGS... and tim uses the EOS/EGS as a form of DRM... which means that a GoG version is likely never going to happen unless if they remove it from EGS and remove all the EOS/EGS files from game

It'll probably happen a few months to a year later, like with Mercenaries' release. I'm content to wait tbh.

It would really help if we got an official word about this.
I would hate if it would first release on Steam and after two weeks or something the game would just suddenly stealth release on GOG.
