"Never Die" isn't even entirely accurate. Soul suckers and being knocked off of pits will still kill you. On the flip side, in at least one instance, not being able to die while trying to speed run leads to being caught in an infinite loop of plunger guys slinging you around the room.
That said I completely approve the devs focusing on fun over elitist nonsense and including these options. That they don't trivialize everything suggests to me it was thought through to an extent.
Why not? If you got them without it, then more power to you. The accomplishment can't be taken from you.
Cheats make achievements worthless.
Imagine you're talking part in a 100m run.
All the competitors run and try to get under 10 seconds for the achievements, but you just get into a sports car and do it in 3 seconds.
Devs focused on making the game fun and not a headache unlike many games these days and I for one appreciate that
