Since people have to do infamy 20+ now to get the achievements, take them away from people who already got them and make them earn them again.
It's kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that we have to win runs at infamy 40 to get achievements that were previously 15. Make everyone re-earn those or drop the requirements back to pre-update.

There is no way for us to take them away really. There are very few achievements that have changed though and they are meant to be hard.
Artemis' Emissary from 18 to 30
BuryDead from 18 to 40
Demi God 18 to 30
I appreciate the response. I don't actually want people to lose the achievements, I was just upset that the ones that I hadn't gotten yet had the requirements increased. Love the game, though!
beating it with 40 infamy once itself is pretty extreme for an achievement, having to do it with every character is very r-worded.. Not everyone is redbull chugging sekiro enjoyer. Nice job on making achievements the vast majority of players wont ever be able to complete.
Try to make it to the max, make the game as much fun as diablo4 ....
I'll join the discussion, completed my first infamy 50 (because why not go for the max difficulty?) run today, it was tough, took few tries, right upgrades and objects, in general rather bad experience as it felt like it is 90% luck based. Not saying that it is impossible, saying it is really difficult. 40 infamy sadly isn't much different. In general, I feel that it needs to be tweaked, at least a little bit.
The luck aspect really is key. Getting a mythic upgrade early makes a big difference. For the objects, they range from being practically essential at one end to being useless, insignificant, or even detrimental at the other end. You also often want to pick up objects in the right order; some of them need another object to be effective, while others give a bigger early-game boost.

The black market and super black market do provide some RNG mitigation, but it's often not enough.

The result is that sometimes, things come together well, and it's an easy run. Other times, you just have bad luck and either can't kill quickly enough or die before you can really get started. And if you die before killing the first sheriff, your next run will be penalized.

I'm not really sure what the solution is. The RNG is an important part of the game, creating challenge, interesting decisions, and exciting turnarounds. It just sometimes also creates runs where losing is inevitable.

EDIT:

I've managed to get back to 100%.

It took a lot of attempts, some grinding for extra coins, and some lower-infamy runs to get back the lost and found chests.

Overall, I still feel the luck factor is the biggest issues. When I lost, I lost quickly, and when I won, I won easily. Maybe some of the worst objects should be buffed or removed. Or maybe the chances of getting a high-rarity objects should be increased. it just feels really bad when there are objects you need but even after banish-rerolling and rerolling, you're still left picking the least-worst option.

Some of the characters are also a lot more powerful than others. Some are good early on, some can end up powerful but need more to get there, and Jody is just bad. (Also, I just noticed that, in the encyclopedia, the character stats aren't being updated. I have Serra as picked 0, won 1, and everyone else as picked 0, won 0.)

Can you make a guide with the best items for each character?
The only thing that really needs to be changed is the health scaling for the later waves. It's very common to find yourself massively behind the curve after your first sheriff kill, and at that point you're never going to recover because you can't level up fast enough or kill any deputies. I still managed to beat a 40 run in such a situation, but it was definitely not fun.
Sorry, I don't feel qualified to make such a guide. Here are just some general thoughts. Take them with a grain of salt.

Serra really needs Sharing is Caring and benefits a lot from Ethereal Flame, plus the various upgrades/objects that boost projectiles. Fan of Knives also works well (just take a few steps to trigger it and/or dodge a projectile, so you don't lose your whole Bowgun buff).

Nigel benefits a lot from Spread Shot, since that increases his effective range and all three projectiles will return to him. He also synergizes well with Mighty Mezcal Staff.

Ollin is good at throwing projectiles everywhere. Spread Shot, Three is the Magic Number, and Pong can let you cover the screen in projectiles. And he synergizes well with Sheriffken (if you don't have Pong).

Natoko is hard. He wants to be close to enemies, but that puts him in danger of getting hit. There are objects that benefit from running and being close to enemies, but these don't benefit from Dark Revenge's attack speed boost. You can get his attack speed really high, though.

Roger's object doesn't pull him towards any particular build.

Rob3rt 1.6 is also hard. The Steamtech Turret is really powerful, especially in being able to shoot while you're moving, but you need to stay close to it to fully benefit. Steam Boots and dodge-triggered objects can be useful here.

Madlyn will spend most of her time doing the "run, then stop for a shot" tactic, so Thunder Dance and Panic attack will work well.

Jody doesn't really synergize well.

Regardless of build, if you get Steam Boots and Soothing Escape, you can reliably heal (though it's initially on a slow cooldown). Adding Reckless Rush lets you convert that into an ever-increasing damage bonus, which is risky but can pay off immensely.

There are also a few objects that I'll almost always take, regardless of build, such as Warning Shots, Fickle Bullets, Swift Bullets, Pistorang, Fanged Arrows, Spread Shot, and Godly Die. And if you're offered another character's weapon, you can often take it and effectively play as that character instead.

On the other hand, Little Friend is almost always a trap, since it reduces the effectiveness of everything except your normal attack (and even then, it hurts the 'run, then stop for a shot" tactic). And don't bother with anything that triggers on taking damage, unless you have the Soothing Escape/Reckless Rush combo.
what I did and worked really well on anyone is a dash build.

Basically get all dash upgrades you can get and some for normal attacks for the early game. Also get around 10-12 dashes if possible.
Focus on crit chance, crit dmg and basic dmg and around 50% cooldown reduction. (and maybe 11 Health to survive 3 attacks instead of 2)

The most important chest upgrade is the epic upgrade that use up all dash in succession but reset all dashes at once.
The healing one is a trap though and the dmg increasing one as well. You don't need those.

With infamy 40 and enemies deal 5 dmg and 100% less heart drop you want to avoid any attacks. (the shields that rotate around you is useful especially against last boss on 2nd phase) and the 60s shield one.

If you have enough dash you can basically use it to clear the whole room with enough crit and dmg and some dash chest upgrades dash deals a lot of dmg and you are invincible during the duration. After that you just have to dodge around 2-3s until dash are ready again and you do the same.

You are basically invincible all the time.

The healing would make it harder because the cooldown is longer. It can work I guess but it was never necessary.

That's the spirit of achievements. Not everyone gets them, like in real life. Cry somewhere else.
There are multiple builds that can beat infamy 40 with little to no effort, it isn't that hard when you know them. The only problem I had was getting the ones I wanted consistently, but on the other hand that's why I found multiple builds that work for all characters.
I'm working on my last three characters at 50 right now. Gotta say sure there's RNG but a maxed out market makes it much more doable with the right delete dice you will find yourself getting really good upgrades. Yes it's hard, but that's kinda the point. Some characters do pigeon hole you into a specific kind of playstyle but leaning into their strengths goes a long way. But there's an element of git gud. Once you're at lvl 50 you should be able to always beat at least the first sheriff unless you make a stupid mistake.

As for the achievement side, they added all the "beat over level 40" ones anyway so unless someone has those does it really matter what other ones they got?
Well those infamy challenges were all cake. For me the hardest one and the only one I haven't unlocked is the one when you die at the boss.

Finally got the last one with the help of my 5 year-old nephew
