Modern Warfare 3 Pre-Release Review.
I completed the campaign on Veteran difficulty in just under 5 hours, and it left me puzzled. The video quality felt subpar, giving it a somewhat lack luster appearance. To make matters worse, the level of animation is stiff and nothing as professional as a full length feature film animated genre you would expect. With over 1500 people in the rolling credits I would expect this to be more polished and not so stiff and lifeless. Now On to my review:

The campaign was plagued by restrictions and confined battlegrounds, lacking the openness one might expect. For instance, in Chapter 2, a mission involving blowing up helicopters, I encountered an odd boundary where issues around a U-shaped building structure. Parachuting through a specific area was considered out of bounds, but moving just a few steps to the right made it suddenly acceptable. These boundary quirks challenged the idea of an open world. These games should not have boundaries touching actual game play buildings and structures you would normally explore.

The presence of large rocks or mountains as map features where they placed them as boundaries further hindered game-play, preventing their use as effective cover and making players easy targets for AI sharpshooters. The AI's ability to shoot through various materials and structures created a frustrating experience, as seeking cover often proved ineffective.

The campaign felt exceptionally short for a Veteran play-through, raising doubts about its depth. Magnetic grenades added to the challenge, as they seemed to home in on players unerringly, sometimes even making improbable turns. AI sharp shooters regularly hit on target giving them an advantage even when poking your head out for a view. Pop you dead.

Problems with going prone were apparent, with issues arising when attempting to stand up, often due to invisible objects obstructing movement. One particularly amusing episode involved receiving a new gun in the middle of a battle, during which the character exhibited an inexplicable delay in inspecting the weapon. Grabs the gun, sticks his thumb in the breach. Turns it over several time and slowly loads the gun as if time stopped and the ongoing war around him or her stops. This kind of detail is great if we were making a movie. We are not and someone is shooting at you while you gaze at this new thing like a boy for the first time seeing breast. 1500 plus people made this game. Who decided this needed to be a thing and why? Its a game, make believe. Some Weapons expert for the consulting military probably said hey this is what we do and then like the whisper in the ear game we all played at 5 years of age in the classroom sitting Indian style whisper the word Red and at the end its potatoes for toes.

Overall, the campaign left me questioning the game's design choices and balance. The credits, which rolled for over 15 minutes, made me reflect on the massive team behind the game's creation. As a Designer for Film and Television, I could appreciate the Cinematics, but they fell short of the quality found in feature films. The campaign suffered from camera work that felt lacking and flat acting. However, the sound design was a highlight. The editing was abrupt and jarring, and even the music loops exhibited noticeable transitions.

In sum, the campaign experience was a source of disappointment, and it raised questions about the value of a $100 pre-order for the game. If this were a movie, audiences might hesitate to pay top dollar for a seat, as it failed to deliver a feature film-quality experience. Game-play seemed short and you are left with unfinished affairs and loose ends. 5 short chapters. If this were a book it would be a children's book of 25 pages. half being pictures. nothing really all that in depth. After playing the Beta multiplayer a week prior and now this its a huge difference in development. A lot goes into make a AAA game but at the same time the balance of per dollar per minute of single player game-play falls daringly short and disappointing. Nothing like the old games of the past like Medal gear Solid where it would take you months to finish Or Zelda never ending. Games like this have surpassed the 100 dollar mark and giving you 80% less for your dollar. We can all agree the multiplayer function of the game is where most of us play but that's not even all that different when you get a new product by name and its mostly old maps from the first Call of Duty we played as kids.

In summary the campaign is missing its audience and the play factor per dollar is a serious inflation gouge.. The release of the game thru the portal of a past game MW2 seems odd as if MW3 is just an over-priced DLC.

Waiting for the actual zombie version we were promised and unexpected to my surprise was not released for a Halloween spectacular is a huge miss for me. What a missed opportunity to have the community get together on Halloween and Play the one mode everyone is waiting to play. ZOMBIE HORDES. So who ever makes the decision at what i see as a company lead by several hundred Hydras i don't see how this franchise will ever make the money to offer a game at an affordable price.

Game Notes:
Explore the 3rd chapter entirely and open every box and pick up anything you see and then drop it. If you don't pick it up you wont get the item in your inventory later when the game releases. Spoiler the prize at the end of the campaign, they could do a lot better for playing Veteran level. Same goes for the Haunting in MW2. 1000 souls and you get a crayon box on your gun. Stickers and tassels and two basic Player skins. Its like playing a barbie game and getting pink sneakers. That's it. Forgot I was playing a Military Sim game designed for Adults.

IGN gave this game 4/10 but don't worry boomers, bobby kotick whiteknights and fps disabilities'll keep buying this game cuz they either suck at any other fps/couldn't get over the past and kotick succ their b4lls.
What a trash review. Might as call this "I suck at CoD and the campaign sucked". Nothing surprising about Multiplayer and MWZ coming next week, we knew this already. SO why are you judging it now. No one plays COD for campaign, so why you valuing the campaign like anyone actually gives a sht. Yall are a minority. No one cares what you think.

The real players are going to love MW3, because its literally everything MW2 should have been but better. What ever the review score is now will change in a week.

Name a shooter in the last decade that actually has a good story?

The Division, Far Cry, Recent Halo games, Outriders, all of them have absolutely dumpster trash stories. CoD games have always had generic stories as well with 0 soul.

The only shooter that has a good story, even if it is sometimes butchered or retconned is Destiny 1 and 2. When I hear people complaining about CoD campaign, I have to ask if they have literally ever played a shooter with an actual good story. Nothing is comparable to Destiny, the original Halo Trilogy, and some of the Borderlands games. If you count Bioshock, those were good too. Other than that what are you comparing too.

You want the absolute worst, go play Starship Troopers, or The Division 1/2.

Many COD fanboys still applausing the game up to now is due to the story. Without that the game'll be nothing more than boomer playground as the multiplayer of this game is already masstively outdated by today standard. I mean how long was it since the last COD esport event?

They have COD Esports events all the time mate, there's one coming up in December. They had some when MW 2022 came out as well, because they sold a bunch of skins in game at the same time. I could care less about them, but apparently enough people out there care.

I am not to big of a fan of the multiplayer COD part over the last few years since they added SBMM. It makes playing the game on the regular always a sweaty experience, and maintaining something as simple as a 2.0 or 3.0 kd requires the most annoying game play ever. The way they make their spawns so noobs can spawn behind you and kill you is not fun either. Pretty much in MW 2022 I never played the normal playlist because all the maps suck. Shipment and the other map 24/7 for me.

With the recent news on MW3 and MWZ it seems like it will just overall be better. I don't know about the spawns, but weapon tuning is gone, there's a full rebalance of every weapon, and a loadout rebalance, on top of the new stuff. They plan to bring back maps apparently everyone loves as well. Then there is the reintroduction of increased mobility. Pretty much everything people complained about in MW 2022 is going to be fixed and better in MW3, and many of those changes are also coming to MW 2022 for free.

Is it expensive for essentially a DLC? Sure I can agree it is expensive. However these days, this DLC would be called an expansion, and sold for $50+ across the AAA industry. The only way that is going to change is if people simply stop spending extra money. Sure buy MW3 no big deal. Just don't buy any micros the entire life span of MW3 and they will change accordingly.

Destiny 2 had this issue and they lost 45% of their revenue because players simply decided to stop buying sht. Now look at the recent news and announcement in Destiny 2 about the game and its future. Money talks. If you were someone who never bought anything to begin with, your opinion means nothing to them.
