End-of-life plan?

Does this new release of the game require an online connection to a server to play, or is there dedicated servers or at the very least LAN/offline options? Or is it Games as a Service and this game will become unplayable *AGAIN* when inevitably support gets dropped for it?

If the answer to the second question is "yes", do Abstraction and Arc Games know how tonedeaf it is to revive a game that was killed by GaaS by putting it in the exact same position it was before, putting a death clock on the game again?

P.S putting a PRICE TAG on a potential GaaS at that is just silly

100% I've been harping on live service games for several years. I got burned by Darkspore and Hellgate London so I never knowingly "buy" online only games anymore.

I skipped Helldivers 2 for this very reason. All the fools paying money to rent a game that will inevitably be stolen from them down the line. It's like paying a thief in advance.
