"Woke" "DEI" - Read this

Totally understand where you're coming from—your concern is valid and shared by many players these days. A lot of gamers just want to enjoy a good story and immersive gameplay without being pulled into political or ideological narratives, especially when it feels forced or unnatural to the world or characters.

As for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, here's what we know so far:

The game’s primary focus seems to be on a dark fantasy narrative, set in a world where people vanish each year based on a number painted in the sky by a mysterious "Paintress."

The setting is inspired by Belle Époque-era France, and the story themes are more philosophical and existential—touching on mortality, hope, resistance, and the human spirit.

So far, no previews, trailers, or developer statements suggest that the game is pushing any political agenda or includes what’s commonly referred to as “woke” content.

The characters and world-building appear to be original and stylized, with a heavy focus on atmosphere, gameplay, and emotional storytelling—rather than real-world political messaging.

Of course, until the full game is released, we can't say 100% for sure—but based on everything public so far, there’s no indication that it's going down the path of politicized storytelling like some recent AAA titles have been criticized for.

The dev team at Sandfall Interactive seems more focused on creating a timeless, immersive RPG rather than a social commentary piece. If you’re looking for a game that lets you just dive into an imaginative world and enjoy turn-based battles with rich lore, this one is looking promising.

These people will defend to their dying breath any popular game isn't woke, even as it has everything "woke games" have, from body type A/B, transgender characters (Elden Ring has this), female empowerment, etc etc.

This is another at length woke, phobic, paranoid post that every game gets judged by these days-by immature young people.
Who cares! As long as the game is good and has a good universal theme in its story. Who cares if there are gays or trans or whatever that are either optional or just there. As long as its a good game.
These are criteria for fools and followers of the ideal so called normal. This is an easy, unintelligent, and ignorant way to critic any game or art form. And it is someone who knows little about literature and art.
No one is "pushing their agenda" on anyone in these games you are paranoid about
It's just there and you have to deal with it just like in reality, girlyguy.
What I personally hate is when a game is nothing but lesbians throughout the whole game and not even done well and just
because the dev thinks Lesbianism is cool and popular (which it is popular) they use it all throughout the game because they can't think of anything original or creative to make a game interesting intriguing. Like don't nod games or The last of use 2 -though TLOU2 does have good game play and maybe a decent story they pushed the Lesbian theme way too much to make it sell as we've see in commercials and movies for the past 3 decades.

Yes, why even make these posts? Let the artist, the dev do what they want as long as it is good political or not. Stop all these conventional right wing restrictions or we will have the most boring game stories ever-plastic ♥♥♥♥ and Jane who have lot's of money and are the most boring, shallow, self serving couple.

Minorities have always existed in games. That's not what woke is about. It is about impressing upon the player a political stance.
