That said there is no need to nerf stuff in a single Player game, just don't use it if you think it is to good. By the way isn't the real Issue more like you finishing all Fights in 3 Turns?
It's not like anything coud kill your Team in 3 Rounds no matter if the can damage you or not.
Also bigger culprits are the crafting bonuses on mid to high end gear that boost your attack and defense stats way too much (e.g. defense on helmets). I calculated it at some point near the end of the game and found that a solid 30-35% of my defense stat came just from the extra crafting modifiers on my armor.
if you want a harder play though, then DO NOT use both of these cultivation methods.
think of it this way.
Story mode. play with yoga sutra and Golden Bell Cocoon
normal mode. play with cultivation skills that do not have passively buff you, only activated buffs.
normal mode + do not use healing cultivation Skills.
hard mode do not equip any cultivation skill.
impossible mode. learn one and only one cultivation skill other the the free one given as a starter. same with the lightweight skills. but do not equip them.
see how your game play out with those setting.
some tools are not for you, but for players who enjoy a story mode, style game. why ruin the game for them?
Yeah I wish there was just a hard mode that basically takes into account players that do all side quests before continuing in the story and basically making the bosses at that time harder for players. Its just the game starts off so hardcore so you would think the Devs would keep it that way, but instead you go from hardcore to wet noodle after sword appreciation ceremony if you do all the side quests in central plains before continuing the story like I did. Also, because the game started so hardcore I thought I had to squeeze every cultivation method I could find into my character by sparing people, and basically that's a terrible idea because after sword appreciation ceremony I was just way too strong. so yeah took off golden bell cocoon, changed my party from 5 players to 2 or even 1, and still just way way way to strong, kinda odd how OP I am in this game its a bit confusing, so I would really like a see 2 modes, story mode for main quest people and can keep the game as is. And Hard mode for people that actually do all the side quests and get all the cultivation methods in game.
How to you get golden bell by that stage? I am past that stage but am not able to beat the weaker monk who can teach this skill (not the Abbott).
also in the town of fancheng city her is a monk, with some good staff skills and i think they have a lesser more skill booster cultivation method so probably the basic monk cultivation skill. in the same town there is a Liushan school guy which offer the lesser cultivation skill of there branch.
hope that helps.
Yeah I got the Bell from the monk at the sword appreciation ceremony, the drop down from the precipice area I couldn't do till a little later so that's a stretch, but just dueling the monks and really like everyone from all areas are there to just cherry pick cultivations from is what I did but it was dumb cause I was way to strong. I would recommend doing all side quest in main area before sword appreciation ceremony but not cherry picking cultivations at all, just use what is given to you and make sure your stronger than mowen and I think you can beat it like I did. Then after that the game is way easier so I would recommend not cherry picking any cultivations for North and West and South areas etc. Just continue game as it guides you. However by the time you finish the south jungle area the game goes back to skyrocketing hardcore mode out of nowhere hahah so I'm glad I was already OP, so I would recommend having most cultivations in the game after you finish the south jungle area before going on with story. I'm still not done with the game but should beat it tomorrow. Game is awesome though even though the balance is up and down and all over the place, good luck!
I love it as it is.
Wait a minutes, are you sure it is Golden Bell Cocoon now? In my previous play through, it is Yoga Sutra.
i know it one of 2 yellow Sholin yellow cultivation skill .. i also figure they both god tier skills in the yellow skill range. regardless i'll be starting a new play though soon and i'll rediscover in time if i was correct or not.
Yea, I just did that yesterday and it's Yoga Sutra.
But I also had Golden Bell Cocoon for days, not as a book though, i learned it from some teacher, probably at Shaolin Temple?
Pretty sure you can get that as soon as you join Wudang Sect.
As for nerfing, I think the skills should be somewhat in line so if this one is way too strong then it should be nerfed. Reducing the initial shield to 1 stack should be fine, because if you decide to use this, then a temporary shield needs to be stronger than some healing cultivation, IMO.
