Gameplay question
Should i use more powerful ingredients even if they have bad traits? I tried using some with good traits and lower strength, but it turned out to be 2 short of a common potion.

A few things to keep in mind:

First, you don't necessarily need to fully clear an area. It's generally better to kill 2-3 enemies from the Mushroom Mire or Bone Wastes than to completely finish the Enchanted Forest, because the ingredients in the Enchanted Forest just aren't very good. You can unlock a lot of new ingredients from the Mushroom Mire even if you can't make a Poison Cure to get past the obstacle.

Try to keep Mint busy even if you don't have any potions to spare for her; 50g for 2 random drops is a pretty good deal if you haven't unlocked everything.

Second, remember to check with Baptiste for expeditions. The available ingredients are randomized each day, so you might get lucky.

Third, you don't necessarily need an ingredient with exactly the magimins you want. Perfect magimin balance gives a quality bonus, but you can be a ways off from the specified ratio and still make the potion at a penalty. I don't think you can make poison cures with literally zero D magimins, but you don't need the right amount of D to be perfectly balanced, and it's even OK if there's a bit of unwanted magimins (like B) attached to it.

The Mushroom Mire and Bone Wastes each have several ingredients with D magimins, including at least one common ingredient in each. There are more in the Mire than in the Wastes. If you didn't get them on your first couple tries, you just have to keep trying.

There are no D magimins in the Enchanted Forest.

When making potions for custom requests, I discovered that I sometimes have to dump in ingredients just for the trait that's required, even if the magimins on it are completely opposite to what the potion recipe requires. I usually like to make my potions with perfect balance, often with exactly two stars missing from the next tier so they tier up after they get the 2-3 bonus stars for a perfect recipe, but keep the faster cooking time from the previous tier, so I can use less fuel.

But for these recipes you may have to commit potion crafting heresy and add some stuff that ruins your perfect potion. For three of the traits, this is easy, since there are size 4 ingredients that have one of these traits and 4 of A, B, or C. Mixing in one of those barely affects the the result of a potion. But especially for the rightmost trait, I've actually found it difficult to cram it in there. Perhaps I'm still missing some of the early ingredients, but a rare plant ingredient with 27 B is the lowest that supplies it among the ones I've discovered so far.
