reset progress?

is there any way to reset my progress, like starting a new profile in most other games?

Posted by JaiTek - I take no credit or responsibility if something goes wrong:

c&p: There is a userdata subdirectory as well as a numbered directory that represents your userID on Steam.* Each game you have purchased on Steam has a numerical directory under that.* Defense Grid's directory is 18500.*


<drive>:\<your_steam_path>\Steam\userdata\<user_id>\18500
If you move everything from the 18500 directory and below elsewhere (making a backup just in case) you should have reset the game.

Just tried it. Did not work. I still had all my medals. It downloaded the exact same thing to the new folder.

okay, i've figured it out.

(1) delete the game's userdata files as described above by cougarific,
(2) right-click the game, go to properties -> updates -> uncheck "use steam cloud" option.

the game should have reset all your medals now.

Just for anyone else arriving here through google, PrimeSonic's suggestion doesn't work but after you follow the steps Profile Name posted and start the game once, you can quit again, turn the steam cloud back on and start the game again. It will ask if you want to use the local or cloud save files, choose local. Now your cloud is reset as well.
Your highscores will remain by the way, but all your medals are gone so you can have something to work toward against.

Thank you all for the info... Going to the 18500 folder, open it and delete it's content did the trick This is the 3rd. time I reinstall the game and starting from Zero is a must! ...

I almost forgot how good this game is... Cheers!!!
