How do i change the look of models?

Hi there,

I'm sure this should not be as hard as it seems, but i've looked a lot online and nobody tells me how to do it anywhere!

Basically, i downloaded a model pack from the SFM Box (this pack: http://sfmbox.com/game-of-thrones-knights/ ). So if you look at the screenshot, they all have different helmets etc. However, when i spawn them in, they all got the same helmets.

So i looked around in my directories, and then, in the material folder, found some materials which came with the pack which seem to allow me to change the looks of things (there are different .vmt and .vtf files for things like gloves, boots, helmets, etc).

I assume i can somehow make skins for my new models with these different helmets etc, using the .vtf files?

Have you already tried looking at the bodygroups?

did you look through the model browser to see if there are other helmet models included in the pack?

also. try right-clicking the model in the animation set editor going down to body, or bodygroup, if they have one. you may be able to change the helmet there. or may be able to hide the helmet they have to put another one on.

Ahh yeah the body groups did the trick! Well SFM is more clever than i thought haha.
