Bigg Mann on Campus Coloring
I got a poster request with this item in Blu and I took a look at the wiki to refresh my memory. When I loaded up the model, the color of the sleeves seemed a lot darker than picture on the wiki. I tried Pte. Jack's standard material fix and that turned the sleeves white. I tried the fix again, but only the layer mask portion, thereby ensuring the layer mask was pure white where needed. Still no luck.

It is worth noting that the .vtf itself is the dark color that I am seeing in SFM, yet the workshop page for this item doesn't display that color. It shows a more Tinge-paint color, which is a little duller than what I was getting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

There isn't anything wrong with the original materials. and the best method to fix this is to use the Steam overide materials function. After applying the the override, take the item to the element viewer. click the + beside the new materials element.
Find the skin you want to change. (red or blue or do the process to both) and
expand the material and
right click on it.
Select Add Attribute and
select Color.
Rename the attribute to $color (lowercase)...
Select Add Attribute again and
add another Color Attribute.
Rename this one to $colortint_base (lowecase) .
your Varsity will now be black
Click the Color swatch for the $colortint_base and make it pure white (upper left corner) this will remove all tinting from the color.
Now use the $color swatch to change the color of your varsity. If you need a little black (or other color) t osmooth out what your looking for use the $colortint_base to tint the current $color color.
