Expiration Date Opinions
So now that we've all seen Valve's latest short, and clearly have nothing better to do, how 'bout some opinions?

Personally, I liked it, but felt that the plot line was a tad predictable. I was rather excited when they supposedly gathered a bucket ("Dear God") of everyone's last activity on earth. I would have really enjoyed watching the Mercs live out those, most likely, insane wishes for their remaining 70 hours, and was rather disappointed to find that they just focused on Scout's (hence the predictable-ness).

Anyway, that's my two cents. Anyone else?

I agree with what you are saying, I accepted it all though as soon as it came together that the soldier had been teleporting bread for the past 3 days. The rest wasn't much for making me laugh, but still very entertaining and well done. I am thankful that they are adding more to the characters with these videos, going more in depth on their personalities and such, I enjoy it.

Well, there were actual hints to this movie happening. If you looked in the SFM Workshop, a new item of different kinds of bread models were added, which are exactly the same bread models as in the game and in the movie (clear Easter Egg). Miss Pauling model by Valve actually looks a lot better than the one by Rebbacus, but the older Miss Pauling is really well done. The bread was mentioned as a tumor, and it seems that the characters as they traveled through time and space were irradiated by the trip. But it' s probably visible that the story isn't over. :/

there is a reddit post detailing the timeline of events. this short was apparently in the works for at least a year and a half.

Good grief, well, I better set the bar a little lower for myself then and not be expecting to do something like this ever without being in a team. No matter, we must all find our own way.

The real question is the Miss Pauling model available....?

I loved it! Great dialogue and character writing as always! Kind of obvious plot, yes, but I think they intended to make it feel self aware by using certain tropes, which fits with the universe's usual humor.

My only slightly negative thing was, I didn't like that Miss Pauling at the end was basically like, "It was fun to kill that monster with you (and the rest of the team), I totally forgot that you are an immature annoying screw off, let's date!" It seemed out of character to me. But maybe I'm just overly defensive of her because how much I love her from the comics :D She's a strong female character that I admire for always being so calm and collected through all the madness.

But I know they were more just going for a cute simple ending, and it was ^^

I like the design of the Miss Pauling rig, I think her face is much more accurate to the comics than the unofficial rig I saw out there--No offense intended to the creature of the unofficial rig, I'm aware modeling likenesses is very difficult. And her design has changed some through the comic series. I really hope Valve releases her official rig for SFM :)

I seriously hope they continue making shorts, I love the humor, I love the characters, I love the animation--a TF2 show or web series would make me eternally happy :D

Well, in the comics, from what we have, we've never actually seen anything like that, except for that one pane from A Fate Worse Than Chess. Otherwise, there was no basis for her to find him annoying. Trust me, I love her too. She's the Queen.

As for the dating thing, sure that's an oversight, but it was her idea to build the bomb, so she ultimately killed it herself. She just included Scout cause he was the one to actually jump into the monster's stomach with her.

But that's just my personal opinion on the matter. I for one think it's totally cute.

I figured he annoys everyone because he never shuts up :D, but it is totally cute, I agree. Kind of curious to see where they go with it. Much comedic potential!

I think Ms. Pauling has been with the Soldier enough times to like being with the Scout for a change.
