Sprinklers.
Sprinklers radius could use a slight buff. At the moment they do not cover enough area to water a 4x4 grid. Due to the radius being circular, even if you manage to place a sprinkler in the center of a tightly placed 4x4 patch of farm land, it misses 2 - 3 of the corner plots. This makes it difficult to find the perfect placement when setting up sprinklers. Having to still come back constantly and manually water a few plots almost makes the sprinklers pointless.

I just unlocked them and agree that they could use a buff. Through a bit of trial and error I did manage to get the sprinkler to cover four plots, mashing the plots together as much as possible with slight rotations before placement.

I would love to see the sprinklers cover a standard 1-tile distance square, meaning one sprinkler could water eight plots when placed in the middle.

Yeah but we shouldn't have to sit there wasting time, getting the plots in the perfect position just to get the sprinkler to hit a 4x4 grid. The radius just needs to be bigger. I would have been fine with them covering a 3x3 grid but plants do not yield more than one item per plant so you end up with a lot of plants and farm plots. The sprinklers are to costly to just make heaps of them. Especially at the start of the game when you don't have any real automation setup.

I was assuming/hoping that sprinklers would get upgrade options as we progressed? Either better versions or upgraded nozzlwa
sprinklers hit 12 spots from a 4x4 setup. they miss the 4 corners. it's easy to setup 2-3 such sprinkler setups, just don't plant the corners

I would be fine with that however the islands are small and we have limited space to build. We don't know what will be coming later on, so having limited space, I don't want to waste so much of it on farm land. Also there aren't that many flat areas to build both structures and farm land so the islands seem even smaller.

I would hope so, if this game doesn't have tiered items, with the limited space given to us with these tiny islands. I don't know if I would be willing to play past a certain point.
If you build the plots in a 3x2 grid you can put a sprinkler between the two middle plots and it will water all 6 plots
I run a 3x3 plot remove middle square and it will hit all 8 outside plots
Check on screenshot of the game, i post something for you
i placed 2 sprinkler and now it works well for 24 plots

Hi. What screenshot? I just unlocked the sprinkler last night, I’m interested in seeing how you got them to water 24 squares. Thanks
Here is an actual screenshot of what the sprinklers are currently capable of and it's not much. https://www.canva.com/design/DAHMFMRLy9s/mWDh618tjvg9W-2uqTm0jQ/view?utm_content=DAHMFMRLy9s&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=hd1a40a6af3
You can see from the image that the sprinklers don't even hit a plot that is 2 plot lengths away. Those plots are packed extremely close together. I would be fine with making a heap of sprinklers and placing them along single rows of plots, if they didn't cost 5 iron and 5 copper each. That's more than half a solar panel minus the glass. Never mind the power cost to run all those sprinklers.

I do this as well. 4 sprinkles managed to cover enought plots for 6 cottons, 6 raspberries, and 4 watermelon. 3 solar panels is enough to power 4 sprinkles.
I am not sure the issue. I have my sprinkler doing a 3x3 area, just didnt have the plot in the middle.

Maybe give that a try? Works for me!
12 plots per sprinkler. Three sprinklers gave me more than enough plots to finish the quests for the shop. I have not decided yet what to do with the plots around the fourth sprinkler.
