It did almost nothing for me.
I got like a 5 FPS boost... 5.5 GB patch, absolutely pathetic.
Though, I tried RT and it dropped me to 90 from ~120, so technically playable now. But Didn't really notice much visual difference.
RTX 3080 / AMD 3600
Not ideal but better...
Definitely. I've even tried engine.ini files that force shader compilation and that doesn't work. EA's in house version of UE4 really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this up. I do see a lot less stuttering after the patch though.
I tried it with RT and I didn't really notice worse performance than before (was holding ~90-100 FPS with RT on), but I didn't really notice much of a visual difference with it on either. This game only has RT shadows right? Not much of a visual difference from just RT shadows unless you're really looking for it.
My FPS highs are definitely higher, but not steady. Heavy combat will have me dip below 60 still. Better performance, but still very bad.
I'm on a RYZEN 5 3600 - i can run pretty much any game at HIGH or ULTRA without issues however SW JS optimization sucks.
My CPU usage when playing was like 44% or less at times and GPU usage at 23% - it's a known issue about the game, it simply refuses to use CPU and GPU properly.
No, the lightning is ray traced too and definitely looks much much better
