Main story quests pacing [Spoilers]
During my first playthrough I had one moment that really annoyed me, slight spoilers for people who haven't beaten the game.

From the siege of Nebakov you're railroaded for a few hours, and while the lead up Kuttenberg is cool, I feel like you should be given freedom after encountering Kubyenka. Because let me tell ya, following a drunk around for half an hour really made me hate the guy.

I would argue Godwin's italian sideplot also drags on for far too long, though at least it's not actively wasting your time.

The final siege in Suchdol I think did it well, and you have a valid excuse for being railroaded which works quite well within the narrative.

But what do you think? Did any story moments drag on far too long in your opinion?

Eh, I dunno. I was more annoyed with having to read subtitles for the entirety of The Italian Job than the amount of time it took. (But that's a me problem. lol)

Some of the later game does seem rushed to me, but I also felt that Dry Devil and Zizka were rushing it within the story so it didn't feel too weird for me.

The trouble I ran into is when I got to the second map, I went and freed the lord first and in the process of doing the rest of it got a quest warning telling me to hurry up and do another thing, so I got locked in from there, With Godwins bit is its mostly cutscenes and dialogue choices after a certain point so yeah it slows the pace when its placed in the middle of the thing I was told to hurry up and do.

The first game had a fair amount of that as well, but it makes sense within the context of the story. In the first game, I remember going off to explore and do whatever, and I'd get a message about my reputation going down...because I didn't follow orders and report in within a certain amount of time.

Yeah more than one had changes depending on how quickly you done the quest, or in the case of the hunt with Hans whether you already had a horse or not, if you've got a horse you keep up with him and the boar and something slightly different happens.

Best time to free roam in both games is right at the start, in KDC1 right after the tutorial before telling Radzig you lost the sword and same in this before I ever spoke to the blacksmith or miller. Trouble with the second map I didn't do that.
