V-sync, controller and physics issues
As the title says. I first tried the game @60Hz with v-sync enabled but for some reason it runs at 30 fps. I've tried running without v-sync too but it makes lighting effects look almost as if the graphics are glitching due to extreme tearing. I then tried at 120 Hz and it runs at 60 fps, though the contrast isn't as good on my monitor at 120Hz and being the game isn't ultra fast paced the greater contrast would be better for atmosphere. I've tried setting v-sync both in game and in my GFX card control panel and both cause a lot of input lag and make the controls feel awful, which brings me to my next problem...

No matter which setting I use, the controls feel bad. Aiming doesn't feel too bad but moving the camera never feels right and the aiming speed seems to be tied to the refresh/fps. I didn't believe this was how the game was supposed to feel so I actually downloaded the PS3 version as it is currently discounted on PSN. On the PS3 the controls feel fine but I would like to play the PC version with its better visuals and potentially better framerate (as I'd say this game is supposed to run at 60Hz if the aiming speed at this framerate is anything to go by).

I've also had issues with corpses continuing to tumble around the place and in one room there were a bunch of corpses jiggling around like they were being electrocuted.

Deos anyone know how to get this game working properly?

Unless you are willing to go to a lot of trouble installing third party fixes or the game doesn't receive a patch (which seems unlikely at this late date), I'd advise people to steer clear of the PC version and get it on console instead. If you don't have the option to play on console, be aware that you are getting a second rate experience which is a shame as with some minor fixes the PC version would be the definitive version.

Man up and play the game on PC.

I had no problems with it.

I can vouch for that page hanging Chad linked, follow them and it will fix the majorty of the issues with the game. once fixed it runs really wonderfully and is smooth as butter with only a bit wonky unaimed joystick sensitivity. (aimed sens/deadzone is fine tho)

Started playing this game on my, now slowly out of date, laptop (HP ProBook Corei5, 6GB, Win 7 Pro), and was initially not so satisfied with the mechanics related to the player movement, and, even more, aiming. It would almost feel like one must target enemy with stasis before being able to target him with weapon. Then I disabled in-game vsyc, and (why the hell no), AA.

Much improved. There is still that overall 'clunkiness' feeling around the player movement, but to the much more acceptable level, and I'm fine with that (I guess if we'd actually went around running in space suit packed with armor our movements would actually be a bit clunky, so, yeah.)

Its a common knowledge by now, that dead space engine in-game vsync limits fps to 30. You disable it in-game and force it trough gpu software. Tearing is pretty bad without vsync.

I personally managed to digitally downsample from 4k to 1080 144hz using gedosato tool. With r9 390 ican maintain144fps.

In-game antialiasing is terrible. Its better to force smaa or downsample if pc is good enough.

So true. I honestly can't even tell the difference between AA on/off with the in-game options. Looks exactly the same to me.

There have been no patches on PC since launch. Its pretty much v1.0. Its not so bad once you get used to it. Just make sure you are getting at least 60fps.
