Mahokenshi - The Samurai Deckbuilder

After 100% the game, here are my thoughts
So, I sit at around 26h of playtime accordign to steam, but if we exclude tiem I spend beign afk, or replayign certain missiosn just to try and mess around with different builds, it'll probably be around 24h, maybe even less.

Good:
- Graphic and music. Nothing groundbreaking, but still good.
- Character desing - they looked differently, and played differently enough to not feel leek clones
- Card variety - checking charcter's cards, i always could cleary see different 'builds' one could go for.
- Overall difficulty level - There was only one challenge that I felt was unfair - killing Scholar of Corruption before he burned second villige.

Meh:
- Talismans - most of them felt low impact, to the point I often didn't even bothery trying to get to castle if it was out of the way.
- Equipment - again, with few exceptions, most of this stuff felt rather weak.
- Game lenght - it felt a bit short. Not to the point I feel like I wasted my money, but I wouldn't mind if it had a few more missions.
- castle upgrades - leaving aside fact that you end up being just a little bit short of buying everything, most of them didn't felt that exciting. Like, yeah, they are nice, but nothing too crazy.
- There could be more diffrences in stats between characters. Misaki has lover max hp, but honestly, I never felt like it mattered.

Bad:
- Replayability - ther eis none. Once you finish camping, that's it, you are done. Which is sad because there are some cool lookign combos there that I would love to try, but game is too RNG to reiably built them.
- Character balance. Misaki felt mst powerfull of them all, exelent mobility high damage, and she didn't need that many cards to get her combo going.
- I felt like limiting your deck to whatever you draw amount was (maybe 1-2 more) always better choice than going for draw cards.

So, overall, good game, but could use some more content. Honestly, I was really supprised it was not roguelike, as most of this deck builders seems to be. Not saying it's good, or bad thing, but personaly I think those two generes work really well together, and Mahokenshi could really benefit from either more camping mission, or separate game mode

oh god - SO sick of RL. its a crutch to cover short games - make the game longer by making you repeat. Gameplay becmae replaced by gameplay "loop". no way I would have stuck with the game if it was. I don't know when "ground hog day" won over "game progression" but I would have hated to have to go back the beginning every time I died - that would have been pure cheese... as most RL are.
Well said, there's almost nothing to add. After 100% completion of the game, I do a Goblin Slayer cosplay as a turtle guy, and also annihilated the Oni Lord with a fox girl, but that's all. It's a good game, but it's pretty short.
I agree with you. I'm stacked in that bloody mission, which is totally unfair (killing Scholar of Corruption before he burned second village).

And I believe that talismans and equpment are almost useless in this game, which means character's progression is really bad. This items should all be improved a lot and grant their bonus every single turn of the mission. (Example: Amour should always grant 10 armour, at the beginning of each turn)
