Why is it so hard to join a Special Ops or the the game modes?

I've only been able to join two games, when I try to join one, I have to mess around and wait all day to join a game. I've only had this game for about two days, and played about 5-6 hours so far. I love it, but it seem impossible to join a co-op game. I don't want to start doing mercenary mode right now, because I'm too low leveled and I want to figure this game out before I have to deal with condensending kids (no offense to the general public). I'm a pretty big noob, so if I'm missing something obvious, the help would be appreciated, but this game and forum seems pretty dead at this point, which is really sad.

Sometimes announcing in public chat helps. Ie: 'queue high' or '2/4 in queue for high, pls join'. People also often create teams before joining a queue to establish that they'll have a team. You'll see announcements such as: 2/4 max, then you'd ask em for an invite if you wanted to do max. (In Dome City this occurs more than the open areas, in the open areas sometimes it's beter to just queue solo and announce that your looking for others to join the queue)
