We are still in the process of adding decorations, animations, and various other things that are going to change in the final version of the game, however we wanted to share a few screen shots of what we have worked on so far. This is the final layout --so all of the ramps, tunnels, portals, and playfields are final. There are currently seven main missions, and we working on adding skill shot missions and an extra special secret mission.
Unlike Neon Nights this table does have the normal side drains, along with kickbacks. This table does feature the same amount of flippers as Neon Nights (eight)-- but the layout is a lot different. We are extra excited about the clear glass under the playfield mini game :)

We are working on animating the drop target aliens, pay no attention to the double legged alien in the photo-- the final version will have just one alien there. We decided to get these photos up for those that are currently competing for the early release keys on the neon nights contest which ends in three days.

The table is nearing completion, we are working on the sound effects and music and we will hopefully have a release date soon.

Quite a few updates and changes here. Let's start with the new stuff:

A new main menu. Yes the old one was shabby, we heard your feedback!

The upper right playfield has been adjusted to allow the ball to move a little faster. Thank you steam user Bazroo for the feedback on this. The angle of the playfield has been tilted so the ball will move a little quicker up there.

A couple LEDs have been swapped out with newer images that are also being used on the upcoming Outergalactic Aliens Pinball title.

That weird little ball sensor that was floating in the glowing cup, which could usually only be seen at the launch screen before ejecting the first ball -- it's gone!

Bug fixes include:

The pause screen no longer allows the ball to continue rolling after warping if paused during a ball warp. Thank you steam user emarcal666 for pointing this one out, steam user Dstomp for help narrowing down the issue, and Marc at Tropical Studios for a quick resolution.

When completing a game, viewing the leaderboard, then restarting a new game and pausing, the pause screen would show an overlapping leaderboard across the screen. This has been fixed!

The game will launch and play with just the ps4 controller, no mouse / keyboard needed. If steam is running it should default to this setup.

We do not have a scheduled release date for the upcoming title, but we are happy to report it is currently in development and we expect to have it done in the coming months. Once we get a little closer to the end of the development cycle we will be happy to share a firm release date, but until then we are hoping to have it done sometime in the next three months.

Posting a new high score is simple! Once you have completed a game just press the UPLOAD SCORE button and then you can view your ranking with the "VIEW RANK" button. Ready to get back to a new game? Just hit the "CLOSE BUTTON X". Simple. Easy.

Also included with this update is the display of the user's steam online avatar that will appear in the top right corner of the game. This little handy overlay will display if you are currently connected to the steam network. You can't post that high score if your not connected, right?

Please note: As a small development team we did run into some issues with implementing the online leaderboard system. The original first uploaded build of this game only had a local leaderboard system. Once your game was over you would input your name and save your score to a save file. It was a decent, but absolutely boring, working system. However, we strongly wanted players to be able to compete online. Pinball is such a score driven game that we wanted there to be more than just a local save file with this title, and our upcoming tables as well. We made the decision to implement the online leaderboard system and scrap the local board.

For the online leaderboard system we originally wanted a "Top scorers" button, a "refresh" button, a "friends" button, and a scrolling option. We spent a week trying to get these extra features to work, unfortunately the extra options were causing the game to be unstable and crash. Frequently. Eventually we made the decision to implement the system that is currently in the game, which allows the user to upload their score after each game and view their current rank on the leaderboard ONCE per gaming session. This means that in order to refresh/re-view the leaderboard the user must quit back to the main menu and re-launch back into the game. We admit it's certainly not ideal, it's certainly not a typical system, but it works. The game is stable, and to us that was more important than the extra features. We understand it can be a little annoying having to quit back to the main title screen and play through another game to see an update of your rank, but it was the only way for us to get this system in place by launch.
