Too much TK and bad visibility
I think we need to find a solution to better recognize enemies during pvp games. everyone is almost twins and we can't see the colors. if we want to keep the realism and avoid the markers on the allies why not make the enemies appear with a terrorist skin. like in the old america army game.

IFF is undeniably difficult in GB, and though that is partly because we have come to expect games to hold our hands in that regard, we can't simply expect all players (especially in pub servers) to either communicate well or have a potentially terrible experience.

We are not planning on adding floating markers and such HUD elements, but there are some other measures that are planned (and may have been mentioned):

A BLUFOR tracker: Essentially a map/GPS tool that players will be able to pull out to keep track of their teammates. It will also work as the AI command interface eventually.
Server-side kit restrictions: These will allow admins to restrict kits per team, both for PvP and co-op, and make sure friendlies and enemies aren't too similar. Although server owners can already restrict kits via server files, we want to eventually allow that mid-session to make things a lot more dynamic and simple.
IR patches: Reflective patches that can only be seen through night vision. They will likely work like the helmet strobes and have team-only visibility in PvP.

This is what is holding me back from buying it.

My 61 year old eyes/reflexes would be rolfstomped by the Ai.

So my choices are, don't buy or hope for more options for the singleplayer.

Or maybe people can communicate via VoIP and eliminate most team kill situations.

YEAH, this will sure solve the problems people already described in here!

Changes in post processing or lighting could also help a lot I think.

because the maps are WAY too dark that you can't make a positive ID even if you tried.

It also doesn't help that after about 20 feet half of the player model assets such as helmets derender themselves. In some maps where you fight the tangos with t-shirts, if there's a player with a short sleeve polo on you'll never be able to tell the two apart.

The maps are too dark since the latest build, but it has been a problem before.

or in general the problems with lighting, auto exposure, eye adaption, etc.. that make matters even worse

already tried, you do not know who you are warning and the one who is warned does not know that we address to him. it is often not precise enough and too slow

One thing worth mentioning is that the devs are planning to add a blufor tracker to the game. That will help too.

You can dress like ters on rundown.

I used to hate forest maps BUT i learned how to survive and complete them (even on veteran). Just go extra careful and use binoculars. This device is incredibly underrated in this game. Plus the game blooms when communicating with yo team.

maybe some video tweaks can improve the color perception of enemies. for the moment I can not find. Any ideas ?

speaking of the current game version, i think even with the mentioned features included the problems would still be bad distant LOD rendering and lighting (or eye-adaption or whatever) in general.

and of course (i didnt mention that for a while now) the missing ability to zoom in for better visual acuity

Oh, absolutely, there's of course a lot of work to do in other areas still that affect IFF.

There will be no Ali G type clothing in GB for the operators.

I think it's realistic to have some kind of HUD marker over your own teammates. In real life, you would be immediately able to spot your friends, you would just recognize them by the way they move, their stature, their skin, that funny way to move his arms, that subtle limp, etc. Those are subtle human patterns that a game can't simulate. So having HUD markers over your friends is a way to simulate that instantaneous, subconscious recognition.
