Game jutters every 3 seconds...
Even on the main menu screen the game will pause/jitter/lag for 1 second every 3-4 seconds like its hitting a lag spike....makes the game unplayable for me....PC specs:
-ryzen 7 7700X
-32GB DDR5 5600mhz
-Radeon rx 7800 xt OC Asus TUF
-M.2 1TB Drive
-850watt gold rated power supply
-watercooled cpu

while in game getting a consistent 180fps with everything on LOW and it still freezes every 3-4 seconds like i said even on the menu

Odd... that sounds like garbage collection, a memory management issue. That's usually a Unity thing, not an Unreal Engine thing.

Are you running other stuff in the background? Facebook? 30 tabs of YouTube videos?

Most likely it stutters due to shader compilation on the fly or loading new area (travelsal suttering in UE). Bad optimizaion IMHO.
donny Mar 20, 2024 @ 4:34am
i have the exact same CPU and i also have a mini stutter every 3 seconds hope its a coincidence and not related to the cpu
also i can see with rivatuner overlay my gpu basically clocks everything down in that short stutter which is not longer than about 500 milliseconds
power usage also goes down from 170 watt to 100 in those 500 milliseconds and then goes back up to 170 watt again

so i dont think its shader compilation
EDIT: launching it in dx12 doesnt change anything
using a modified engine.ini with these commands doesnt change anything either
i confirmed that they work and get changed by using a console injector and checking them

lmao ok my desperate last resort is from here https://new.reddit.com/r/Engineini/comments/13s1qtc/unreal_engine_45_universal_stutter_fix/

using the UE4/5 Stutter Fix | Less Stutters - Good Graphics engine.ini commands
they seem to SHORTEN the stutter but not fully fixing them

literally tried every idea i had now im out of ideas no clue what is causing the stutters/freezes

I also experience that and I guess it can be an AMD cpu issue. i don't have crazy spec

-Ryzen 5 5600x
-16GB DDR4 3200 MHZ
-RTX 3060TI
Game is installed on an M2 1TB drive

Game runs at 60 FPS 1080p and max graphics without any issue except the jutters.

I tried to put the game at the lowest graphics settings, still in 1080p and with DLSS on Ultra Performance and the jutters still happen at the exact same frequencies.

That's why i think it could be an AMD cpu issue, except if someone with and Intel CPU experience them as well

I do have AMD cpu also but dont have any issues so its not cpu issue. ( AMD 5900x)

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 here, and I've had no stuttering; although I've only played the demo, not the full release, so... :steamsalty:

same issue, stutters every 3-4 secs, you can even hear your pc go quite for a second while it stutters, then rev up again

Hi all,
We're investigating the reports of stuttering and have yet to find a cause, but rest assured that we are working on it. If you wouldn't mind, it would help us a ton if you could send a bug report with the in-game feedback tool as that data will help us triangulate the issue.
AxxessDenied Mar 20, 2024 @ 10:34am
I am playing it on Gamepass. I am getting the same exact thing. A slight stutter every 3 or 4 seconds. It's really quick and almost un-noticeable but it's noticeable enough to make it unplayable since it's repeating. I also am on AMD. Ryzen 7900x to be exact. 3080ti. I really hope that something can be figured out. I will make sure to send in a bug report from in-game like you asked Framebreak
Vagabond Mar 20, 2024 @ 1:08pm
One cause I've seen is supposedly the game attempts to make an Internet connection, fails, and retries every few seconds. It might be worth checking to see if you have a firewall blocking any connections from the game.

If this is on the Unreal Engine, I hate to say it, but it's exactly what Deadlock mentioned. It's UE issue related to shaders. I have seen it more times than I care to.

The good news is, it can be fixed. I have seen every game that had this issue get fixed... eventually.
Licenturion Mar 20, 2024 @ 2:58pm
Stutter here also
That was not present on the demo.

Stutter started immediately when I started playing. Intel CPU, 3080.
The problem is even in the main menu after loading. The butterflies stutter every 5 seconds for a millisecond or so.

Doubt this is network released because even before logging on on the 'press key to start', the animations stutter.

Demo doesn't have this problem.

GPU jumps from 70% to 100% every 3 seconds. Something is wrong with the GPU operation.
