The dock won't work at all brand new official valve. I sold my switch cuz I thought I would be able to play my steam games on the TV. I've spent the whole day swapping hdmi chords, trying different power supply, outlets, ports, changing settings, refresh mode, nothing is working. The only time the screen shows anything is with the safemode start + button and power. It's a TCL tv 60hz 1080p atleast but why is it so poorly optimized? Idk if it's the CEC mode, idk what the screen is black the charging light and power light are the same i have no idea what is going on. From the endless reddit forums on this topic the support is not going to help. The firmware for the dock might've made the problem worse. By making some older TVs incompatible, the dock cost me $70 but is completely useless in it's current state. I've only had the deck for one day and my first impression is this endless troubleshooting nightmare. I should've just kept my switch.

It got a Jsaux instead Valve support can only do so much literally follow everything the subreddit says to do IE:
-Change display refresh rate to match Deck/TV
-Upgrade power supply to get the TV to recognize the source
-CEC the HDMI feature can keep the Dock from interacting with the TV

Anyway I got through it my own way there is no one solution because there is a laundry list of problems with the official dock I'm not a Valve bootlicker they make mistakes and do stuff that is not good. The Official steam dock they sell is prone to breaking. That firmware update is hot cawcaw. More people have problems with this dock. And if you get mad at me for questioning the authenticity of the Dock y'all need to get your head checks. Gaben is not paying you guys to kiss and spitshine his shoes go get mad at something valid. byebye
