Could you please fix the ability to upload screenshots from non‐Steam games? This works on the desktop client but not the Deck.
can you add an easier way to fix firmware corruptions the fix at he moment is not easily found and takes ten steps and 50 minutes to complete. thank you!

Please fix the mess that is the controller templates and layouts being flooded by random stuff, and where the layouts also don't get properly applied to the games, and the views don't update etc. it's an utter mess.

Could you please investigate the issue with Joy-Cons? When two Joy-Cons are connected and set to act as a single controller, the right Joy-Con starts drifting heavily.

One thing I notice in the beta either from today or yesterday is the fact that the trackpad mouse control seems to have lost trackball mode, it only will move in an absolute movement based on you using the trackpad, and that flicking the mouse no longer seems to work. I tested by switching back to the stable steam client and trackball was working again, so something broke in the beta, at least on my steam deck oled.

Something i wonder, why is there "female protagonist" tag, but no "male protagonist" tag in search option of the store ? seems like now theres tens of thousands of female protagonist, but i can't look for male ones ?

and sure i could click the exclude button on female protagonist, but if the game has both or if the game has no tags and still a female one, then i'm screwed, why the double standards ?

Does this beta fix the black screen and screen issue that is often encountered when going from Desktop Mode to Steam Mode? This happened to me twice and it is quite a nasty bug. I've seen mention of it a year ago on the forums.
Since this update, the D-Pad as well as X Y A B Buttons don't always work after start-up. A couple of restarts are necessary afterwards.
Touchscreen, Steam- and 3-Dot-Button work always perfectly, though.

Hi:

i'm seeing a regression with this version of the Steam Beta Client (Feb 6th) on my Steam Deck, when playing games with the Steam Controller and using the right trackpad in Mouse/Trackball mode. I know not many folks are using the Steam Controller any more but it is still my main controller.

I can confirm that this is a regression on my equipment, as if i switch to the Stable branch, the issue is resolved. When I re-apply to the latest Beta (Feb 6th), the issue re-appears. I haven't tried reverting to earlier Beta builds, but I do know the issue wasn't present on the Beta build as of about a week ago.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Seeing very laggy/choppy input received from the right trackpad when configured to deliver Mouse input to the game. It is essentially unplayable. This is only with the right trackpad in Mouse mode.

* The issue only happens when using the right trackpad in Mouse/trackball mode.
* Using the right trackpad in Joystick mode works correctly/unaffected by the issue.
* mouse input from a normal physical mouse works correctly/unaffected by the issue.
* the trackpad on the Steam Deck works correctly/unaffected by the issue.
* Running the game from Desktop mode rather than Game mode on the steam deck works correctly/unaffected.
* Gyro mouse input works correctly/unaffected

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
* install Feb 6 Beta build on Steam Deck
* connect a Steam Controller with latest firmware.
* using Witcher 3 (any game using mouse input sent from the right trackpadworks but I was using Witcher 3)
* Configure the controller settings for the game to use Mouse input on the right trackpad, I am using Trackball mode with Low friction
* Configure in-game mouse camera settings to lowest sensitivity.
* Adjust Steam controller trackpad sensitivity to 400%
* launch game, start playing game

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
right trackpad input feels snappy, playable.

OBSERVED BEHAVIOR
right trackpad is extremely sluggish/choppy. flicking the trackpad results in abnormally long time to process all input received from the right trackpad; this results in blocking further controller input until all mouse events are processed, this can take tens of seconds.

NOTES:
With this setup, starting the game in Desktop mode, or reverting to the Stable branch, resolves the issue.

I have encountered start-ups like this as well. Thank you for documenting the issue.

It is such a peculiar event, I once navigated to 'Test Device Inputs' within settings via touchscreen: everything showed input as functioning, but I was unable to use D-Pad or XYAB Buttons to navigate the Game mode UI. Thankfully, restarting Steam Client or the entire SteamDeck resolves the issue for me.

Very intermittent, have not identified any event that precedes the issue.
