can you download games in sleep mode? screen on, want it off!

just received my deck, it looks wonderful!

Downloading Forza Horizon as my 1st game as well as a few other titles

Its well over 500GB plus another 500Gb on the SD card

So will take time, though I dont want the decks screen to be left on, save energy!

Can I switch the screen off whilst downloading the games?>

Will take me at least 30 hours to download 500GB of game data and I dont want the screen to be left on.


ps not sure why the battery was 100% dead when I got the deck, had to charge it for 10 mins before i could switch it on!

Does desktop mode have a screensaver? Maybe you can shut the screen off that way.

On your Steam Deck press the STEAM button below the left trackpad, go to Settings > Downloads > Enable "Allow downloads during gameplay".

But not in gaming mode yet

mine has been on for the past 3 hours, 58gb done out of 115gb

i had a play about with the settings but cant find anything, maybe Steam will patch in a screen timeout to save battery life
