I've noticed some trunnions obstruction issues when using a freeform hull. Sometimes, there can be no visible hull in the way and yet it gets obstructed.
fun fact, sometimes when using the freeform hull, it fills the ring hole in when spawning. so even if you cant see it in the editor, it may be that you went to the editor too fast and it thinks its solid inside the ring
one way ive found to fix it is to use the hole tool for the hull, then place the turret behind it, and fill the hole

Potentially the "Turret Ring Armor/Thickness" could play a part in it, as it doesn't visually change when adjusting the thickness.
Otherwise i can only think of the Depression and Elevation being the issue.

The collision issues aren't just with turrets. I've mounted mantles directly onto a freeform hull and they've had the same issue.

not neccesarily, it usually auto cuts a hole for the turret ring, but if you control z from freeform to the non freeform turret and change the ring, it sometimes fills the hole, resulting in ghost errors
