LOVE IT But.... It hurts my eyes
I'm normally good with motion blur and colors, but for some odd reason, it hurts my eyes after playing 30 mins or so. Which sucks alot, because I'm having fun. I'm not sure if it's too bright, too vivid in color, or if it makes me squint unknowingly because it seems to have a constant mist filter. I've messed with the setting many times, and when I think I've found the problem, it does nothing to help. Again, I'm not sure what is causing this, but other than that I find the game great. I just have to stop ever 20 mins or so and not go back at it, and still my eyes hurt a while afterwards. I went to play another game and my eyes were fine...

I'm also having the same issue. Played for a few hours this morning when I bought the game and got a really bad migraine behind my eyeballs, other games don't do that to me. I powered through it and took a lot of breaks but it got to the point a few minutes ago that I can't keep going and I'll probably need a break for a few days. We really need some kind of an accessibility feature for this, I'm pretty sure it's the colors

The game isn't quite refined yet. So i'm probably looking at the problem y'all are having being a frame rate issue on top of whatever graphical issues y'all might be having, Wish I could afford to play too so I could check the game out as well.

the game is quite bright and I, thankfully, don't have any eye issues (apart from garbage eye sight) but i can see where you guys are coming from

I had all settings on high and have a pretty good gaming PC, there were barely any stutters or lagging for me except for the loading screen and it actually played smoothly. All the bright colors, the squinting to find the resource nodes hidden among the colors, the sudden tunnel overlays and various other filters however seem to be the more obvious cause

Game Pass on Pc is like a $1 and it is on there. Much more affordable option currently than buying the game.

I strongly suggest to try and disable the Depth of Field Quality and Chromatic Aberrations settings, I was getting bad eyestrain and the start of a headache from just 30 mins with those on, after disabling them I'm totally fine

there are several times when going into and leaving caves that sudden light/dark transition hurts T_T i even play in a semi-well lit room most of the time

Yeh, that transition is really over the top atm.

Good to hear it's not just me either
The DoF setting blurs everything so bad, and the saturated colors on the edges from CA is way too much, it actually reminds me of how some other games simulate the player char having a headache lol

I had this issue with the witness and had to wait until they added an FOV slider to the game to max out to fix it

Don't know why FOV matters with bright colors but it did and it fixed it

(I don't own this game so I don't know if FOV is even an option)

Its the odd, somewhat sputtering yet still smooth, frame rate. Its a bit uncomfortable on the eyes.

Thought it was just me having a bad day. Sorry to hear it's the game causing headaches.

Same! I turned the bloom down and it's a bit better but everything in the game is incredibly bright. It strains my eyes to watch youtube videos of other people playing it as well. Hopefully we either get some settings for the brightness/contrast. At least it doesn't give me as much motion sickness as the original.

i didn't really notice much one way or the other with depth of field, but i can definitely confirm that turning off chromatic aberration helps a bunch! i don't really get why CA is on by default, it just makes everything kind of unpleasant to look at.
