I dont believe they are saying there is anything wrong with FG. Just that the game is hiding behind these tricks to make up for its poor native performance.
However, its not out yet and we wont know how performance will be for many. But being that the settings are maxed. Itll show lower FPS obviously. Even though we all know going from High to Ultra makes no difference in almost all games and that the cost in performance is too great for no difference in visual quality. Its just marketing hype.
The 4060 is a bad card for gaming to begin with.
Even going back to GTX 900 days, if you wanted to game, your options were: 970, 980, 1070, 1080, 2070, 2080, 3070, 3080, 4070, 4080, etc.
That hasn't changed, the 70 and 80 are for gaming on very high settings at stable FPS. the 60 series is budget and it will never even come close to 70 and 80 series.
Given how the game looks, these numbers aren't a surprise at all, it's pretty much in line with what I was expecting.
If the game supports Ray Tracing, which it very likely does, that thing alone will slash your FPS in half easily.
Tweak settings, disable ray tracing, and you'll likely be pulling 60fps at 1440p with a 4060ti just fine without any sort of framegen.
Partially incorrect.
You need 60fps for framegen to work correctly, however, you can enable DLSS, which is not framegen, to get 60fps or above, and then enable framegen which is a separate feature and it will work just fine.
There is nothing wrong with framegen, especially because there is no input lag anymore really.
People just love to complain that their outdated hardware is no longer being catered to by devs.
According to the benchmark the recommended spec pc for stalker2 can't get 60fps native @1080p, it needs super sampling/framegen.
How is that wanting catered to outdated tech?
Industry is a mess.
That is true today and it was true even 20 years ago.
Drop the settings from maximum, disable ray tracing, and you'll do 60fps @1080p natively just fine.
Aaaah thank you. I only looked at the 4k one, cause I am not interested in using anything lower.
Assuming these results from Nvidia are true, do you think with a 4080 I can expect a stable 80 FPS at 4k with max settings + DLSS Quality (!) mode + FG?
