The game vibe changes depending on whether:
- off: we can chill when we are on our airship and be in a relaxed sandbox mode, build in peace, craft in peace, travel around in peace. Stress level not there.
- on: we have to be on alert and deal with crises at all times. Stress level is there.
This is a significant change in how the game feels. Many players come for a challenge and like the stress but some do not. Some (like me) play game after a stressful day at work and just want to chill and fool around with challenge being totally optional when I have the mood for it.
Having this optional makes making achievements based on fighting monsters on your ship unavailable. I sense that there will be features and challenges related to this and having it all optional might not be in line with current vision of the game.
I would however suggest giving it another thought as it changes a little the player base from chill base construction game to more arcade type game.
Or perhaps consider only having monsters in certain areas - as in most biomes will be safe and only a few certain ones will force players to be in 'alert-mode'. That I would like, knowing I can always retreat and tend to my wounds in peace.
Now there might have been a lot of user requests to make monsters attack your ship and this is the reaction to this but bear in mind people came here because they wanted to cruise an airship and build it. Are you sure you are implementing it all right? Will it not churn a part of the existing players that love to play the game and attract other players? Will the other players be enough or you rather play it safe and stick to the existing player base?
I know for sure that if I will have to constantly worry in this game then it will not be for me and I will move on to other titles. How many people like me are there I have no idea. I hope this will be optional in one or other way though.
Please give us an option to turn them off or at least make them rarer. They really stink when it's the third one you've gotten in 15 minutes and you just font want to deal with it anymore.
At the barest minimum at least give us some kind of catwalk electrification device or whatever to spend batteries and shock them off. These things are the absolute worst annoyance in the game.
So them attacking my airship when I'm parked at a POI is a game bug?
