Hostiles attacking your Airship
Can you PLEASE have a toggle in the menu to turn that off? I really don't want to deal with, essentially, base raids. I have always hated that feature in survival games, and will only play games if I can turn that off. Not being able to turn that off will prevent me from playing the game in the future (I haven't played in about a year. I'm waiting for co-op so I can play with my husband and sister).

We need auto guns to defend, Nothing like finding missing engines etc because you never knew your ship was being eaten.

This is what the auto/filtering deck extractor does

I also vote for making this optional.

The game vibe changes depending on whether:
- off: we can chill when we are on our airship and be in a relaxed sandbox mode, build in peace, craft in peace, travel around in peace. Stress level not there.
- on: we have to be on alert and deal with crises at all times. Stress level is there.
This is a significant change in how the game feels. Many players come for a challenge and like the stress but some do not. Some (like me) play game after a stressful day at work and just want to chill and fool around with challenge being totally optional when I have the mood for it.

Having this optional makes making achievements based on fighting monsters on your ship unavailable. I sense that there will be features and challenges related to this and having it all optional might not be in line with current vision of the game.

I would however suggest giving it another thought as it changes a little the player base from chill base construction game to more arcade type game.

Or perhaps consider only having monsters in certain areas - as in most biomes will be safe and only a few certain ones will force players to be in 'alert-mode'. That I would like, knowing I can always retreat and tend to my wounds in peace.

Now there might have been a lot of user requests to make monsters attack your ship and this is the reaction to this but bear in mind people came here because they wanted to cruise an airship and build it. Are you sure you are implementing it all right? Will it not churn a part of the existing players that love to play the game and attract other players? Will the other players be enough or you rather play it safe and stick to the existing player base?
I know for sure that if I will have to constantly worry in this game then it will not be for me and I will move on to other titles. How many people like me are there I have no idea. I hope this will be optional in one or other way though.

So the auto/filtering deck extractor is now a turret?... What?!

Please give us an option to turn them off or at least make them rarer. They really stink when it's the third one you've gotten in 15 minutes and you just font want to deal with it anymore.

At the barest minimum at least give us some kind of catwalk electrification device or whatever to spend batteries and shock them off. These things are the absolute worst annoyance in the game.

Never once has that thing taken one out, it is useless. They always come from the back when they are active, they are always full of the material they are made of or the batteries are dead. They sometimes attack one after another, after another and its well beyond old now. That option is stupid and useless and there is no fun in it. Either give us defenses or remove that plague. Either turrets that specifically attack them or a choice to allow the extractor to attack them only (which is just lame) or electrified decks like another said. ANYTHING but this annoying and useless setup that is here now.

I don't get the hate here. they only attack while you're moving between POI's. They're easy to take out, you get a warning both as they approach and when they attach. And I really wasn't getting them very often. Only real complaint is that they're boring and really not valuable.
jsauerii 3 DIC 2024 a las 10:24 p. m.
No, When you have stopped to do a poi they sometimes keep coming, You have to find them and often they land on a tool on the backside out of view and you at times cannot hit the back piece that is on it to kill it when its on a tool etc. More than once I never hear a warning and find missing pieces of catwalk, once an engine and the catwalk it was on was missing etc. Boring and non valuable is a serious understatement. Its an ok idea but we need defenses that are actually usable. Make it a laser, a rail mounted arrow ballista, electrified catwalks or whatever, something useful and fun if we have to put up with it.

So them attacking my airship when I'm parked at a POI is a game bug?

Guys, just look at the devs words on "alternatives" to combat in the combat update. There's no chance of getting a setting for this. The devs either do not, or can not, understand the stance. Your only hope is that a skilled modder takes an interest in the game.
