Game impossible to 100% right now
Am I the only one that is VERY frustrated by the fact that this game is basically impossible to 100%?? I feel kind of scammed because the developers made all the achievements 'secret', but assuming it was a small game I bought it in the hope I could add it to my perfect game list.

But DON'T buy this game for that, because you literally require to play this game 300 days (!!!!) In a row! Skip one day? Doesn't count. Besides that there is an achievement for completing 365 daily tidies (so play the game at least 365 days), which seems like a very repetitive and boring way to keep people playing the game.

I don't want the pressure to play any game for a crazy amount of 300 days in a row to get the perfect game achievement. This game is a nightmare for completionists. So far this game has brought so much more stress than relaxation... I already put a lot of hours and effort into the game, but does feel a bit like a waste :(

What are your thoughts?

You're right, some of the achievements are just not realistic. We have decided to remove the achievements that require sustained commitment for "consecutive Daily Tidy's played".

We have removed:
- "Clean Streak" (Play 90 consecutive Daily Tidy's)
- "Routine Clean" (Play 150 consecutive Daily Tidy's)
- "Daring Duster" (Play 300 consecutive Daily Tidy's)

We are keeping the "Calendar Collector" achievement, which is "Play 30 consecutive Daily Tidy's", as we feel like this gets at the concept with a more feasible challenge.

Any other achievements that relate to the number of Daily Tidy's played are cumulative and don't require any specific timing commitment, so they'll just add up over time.

Again, thanks for the discussion, we appreciate your insight!

yeah this one is going to be very annoying to 100%, I wouldn't recommend getting this game to 100% unless you really enjoy the concepts

I agree, I was shocked to see the achievement list when I finally could and it sucks :( and with those 300 days in a row... stuck on a puzzle on day 299... sucks to be you, back to 1 again.

Hi all, just want to note that we've seen this and will discuss- really appreciate your feedback!

well, i think i postpone buying until things get improved & should they not get improved, i have enough other games to play. games shouldn't replace jobs.

Thank you for considering this... I'm already at 60/365 completed, and man is it tedious. Takes a bit under an hour per 30 dailies (for me). The snowflake and constellation dailies are the ones that really make it frustrating; the others in the mix are all significantly quicker to complete.

Thank you so much for replying and considering it. I really appreciate developers taking their time to listen to feedback <3

Not sure if you'll also read this but here's a suggestion;
Maybe make it so that you can play daily tidies up to 365 days in the past. So that, for example, in a year from now there will be 365 puzzles available! And if you complete them all you get that 365 daily tidies achievement, and maybe scrap the very high 'number of days in a row' achievements. This way it'll be way more interesting to keep playing the game and keep up with the puzzles every now and then, and you will also have more content for the game overtime :)

Thanks all for your input- we really appreciate it! Totally understand that those consecutive Daily Tidy plays are a bit far-fetched, so we'll give them a think and get back to you via this thread.

My update on this: I'm up to 166 / 365 completed, but ran into a white screen attempting to start #167. I've emailed the contact on dev's website with my save and log files. Gotten easier, but still tedious and mindless at this point. No issues any more with things staying, but I've already suffered to some degree. Just looking to get a fix so I can continue the suffering and grind to 365 sooner rather than later. Cheers.

I just want to add that this is an accessibility issue, because not everyone can really manage to play even their favorite game every single day. Not only can life get in the way, but issues like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can prevent playing even such a light and fun game.

Cozy Grove handled a similar idea by making it total days rather than consecutive days. Duolingo uses streak freezes, and Viridi has a pause system. So there's lots of ways to implement it while still keeping it as a special, rare achievement.

Being able to play past dailies also helps keep it cozy because then you don't get FOMO and can reach for that "extreme" achievement on your own terms without having to do things like alter your system clock etc.

(P.S. A friend gave me this game because she knew I'd like the gameplay, I'm not here for the achievements, though it's always exciting when there's a game I might be able to 100% with my disabilities.)
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I was following this discussion to see the resolution, and also because I weighted buying the game on it. I'm happy the dev rethinked their stance on these achievement and got them removed. 30 day is fine I think, there is the same on TBOI and it wasnt too hard to do (at least for me). Now I actually want to buy your game, (when I have my pay). What I can say is maybe include this comment in an update so everyone can easily see the info and maybe people who were put off by the achievement being kind of insane (sorry) will reconsider now. Have a nice day.

Wah how are you at 166 out of 365?
Whisper Draston Nov 13, 2022 @ 8:45pm
If the conversation is still open i'm glad to see the consecutive amount has been lowered. I do still think a full year of our lives to a single game is a bit much for the other amount. I like the game don't get me wrong, but at some point the concept will get repetitive even to me.

I feel like 100 would be more fair, still a lot of time but, not a whole year.

I only just got the snowflake daily today (unlike achievement hunters, I am playing in real time, ehe). Ironically, I loaded up the game thinking clearing today's daily would be a nice little warm up to get my day started. It was not. It was a horrendous time sink of sunk cost fallacy. The idea behind the puzzle is fun, but the execution is not. The endless scrolling through the "slide" with no big picture to get a sense of space is frustrating and boring. It does not help that I play with toggle-to-drag (due to disability - I can't hold-drag), so it's just tons of clicking and resetting my cursor to continue searching. And then, then I realized I had to do 3 snowflakes. I'm never doing a Daily Tidy in the morning again.

I'm afraid to see what the constellation dailies are like... But just to be clear! I think these are pretty normal "first game" troubles and I'm really enjoying the game otherwise! Sorting the toolboxes is immensely satisfying - these stay tidy unlike the ones I used to have to tidy in my old job!

Hi there, thanks for bringing this to our attention! We will give this a think upon to see if we can ease some of the frustrations with this puzzle mechanic.
