Why did they make Xenolord look like an idiot?
Xenovader looks like a proper alien goon. Low-ranking, but still intimidating.

Xenogarde, now THAT'S a step up. I thought that was the final boss of the Xeno line before I found out about Xenolord. Big meaty dragon alien, properly intimidating.

And then there's Xenolord.
It looks like a bad Digimon. Like someone taped arms and legs to a dragon's neck. It looks like someone took it out too early.
If Xenogarde was the Behemoth, I thought Xenolord was gonna be the Fatalis. I wasn't ready for how much of a goober he looks like.

Why'mst did you do this, Pocketpair.

You telling me Fatalis doesn't look and act like a goober?
Guessing being bipedal was to make it seem more intelligent? Though the gamer pose it has doesn't help.

Fataliis looks like an eastern Dragon, which may be a bit goofy, but is still a bit more dignified.
Xenolord looks like a third of a Xenogarde.
I think it's funny that he's like that tbh, gives me Frieza or Vegeta vibes. (also the fact he's so tiny makes him a monster when used in tower bosses and raids, the typical anti-raider moves don't work on them)
personally his bloody baler in term of design. legit love it.
but i am with you. he look more like the planet destroying pet for the "mastermind" of the Xenos
i was hoping "dark mutant" would have got a redesign and got a second chance.

Yeah it's weird, but it does happen sometimes. Take for example Frieza from Dragonball Z. Before his first defeat he had no less than 4 forms he went through. In his second and third form he became bigger and creepier. In his fourth form however he became smaller and way less buff then before, yet somehow the viewer was supposed to believe this was actually his most powerfull form. I have no idea why sometimes the design for what is supposed to be a more powerfull creature is actually appearing much weaker, Perhaps the people who design them sometimes like to go for the idea that "looks can be deceiving".
yea he looks like that gen 1 generic bipedal bulky pokeman sprite for some mons like nidoking, rhydon and the likes

as far as designs go its pretty uninspired imo

Yeah but it's my goober. I think it looks okay. It could of been a bit more scary looking but I feel that its design is fine. I like raptors anyways.
My personal theory is that Xenolord is not meant to be an actual invader, but a very specialized hunter sent to locate and eliminate the first invader sent eons ago who either ended up with its memory entirely corrupted (the paldeck entries for all three of them paint them as some sort of living computers), or just straight up turned traitor and started fighting *for* the island instead of conquering it: Jetragon.

Xenolord has the same ring on its back with the bladed "wing" projections on it that Jetragon does. Whether that's just a design thing from what/whoever "built" them, an indication of rank (invader?), or something else entirely, I dunno. But Xenovader and Xenogard, despite the former's name, do not appear to be actual invaders, but scouts. Xenovader sends information, Xenogard recieves (poorly), and a there are a couple meteor drop locations near Jetragon's spawn. So they found it, (somehow) got the message back home, and Xenolord was dispatched. We just intercepted the beacon and beat it up first.
