Better way to breed traits?
Been trying for basically the whole day with palworld running in the background and I'm just not getting the traits I want.

It was easy getting 3/4 traits on a few different pals, but trying to get 4/4 is taking an unreasonable amount of time.

I'm basically trying to get Legend, Ferocious, Swift and Musclehead on a Ragnahawk.

I've managed to get 3/4 on some prerequisite pals but when I try to mix two pals that have Ferocious, Legend, Swift and (random 4th) with Ferocious, Legend, Musclehead and (random 4th) I end up with much more random results with much more random traits than the first few that I got easily.

Is it best to have 2/4 and 2/4 and then mix those two? I'm sure it'd be a bit better if I didn't have the extra random 4th traits on both, but it's not like I'm getting mixes of the traits I have. I'm getting random mixes like 1/4 desired ones and 0-3 crappy traits. At no point have I ever had the 4/4 desired and if I hadn't seen that others had managed it I would think there's a deliberate block in the game code from a pal inheriting more than 3 traits. Maybe they can only inherit 2 from each parent and repeat ones get turned into a random one?

If anyone knows for sure how to best breed for traits then I'd appreciate a detailed explanation.

I feel like breeding for the perfect 4/4 traits shouldn't be a thing. Ever since I read about it, I tried to make the perfect workers with lucky/artisan/workslave/serious, and it kinda just kills the fun of capturing random pals and finding eggs in the wild.
4/4 is like finding a shiny in pokemon, you are expecting too much consistency for such a thing.
I didn't see any difference in 2/4 2/4, I just try to get as many of them on each of them as I can. It usually takes me enough times that at the end I can infuse all the extras and get to 3 stars and halfway to 4, to get all 4 traits

It's a huge help if you satisfy your egg's heat requirements, i had trouble breeding my perfect Pyrin noct offspring were producing crap traits, then i tried out the electric heater then boom!! , the offsprings were popping out the good traits much more better then without the heat and got my perfect Pyrin Noct in half an hour or so after that

from my experiance this is your main issue right now, my results are way better when i use Parents with empty slots instead of Parents that have Passives that need to be breed out.
