Cardies integrated Bajor
As the title says, the Cardies integrated Bajor before i got around to do a liberation war. Is there any way for me to liberated them now?

Claim the system in a war? (not that i can ffigure out how to claim as feds)

Or is there some kind of in-game event that has the cardies leave Bajor as per the shows

I don't think there's any event, at least right now. Basically, if Bajor gets integrated, you have to get them to declare war on you, maybe by tossing out ships until they view you as weak. Otherwise you have to fight an early liberation war before they get integrated.

Yarp.

Bajor was occupied by Kardasia for decades before the Federation came along and stuff.

There is an option to start the event, you have to look at those info screens. I forget which one it was, but its there, just not very visible at a simple glance. Maybe the Bjorn planet one? I saw it near the end of The Red King multiplayer youTube video, so if you can;t find it you can check there for what you need to do.

It's messed up, not being able to finish a mission for good if you don't attack early enough.

It could be easily solved by giving you a special "freedom for Bajor" or a Maquis-based claim once you arrive at that mission point.

As it is now, there's pretty much no way of finishing the quest if Bajor gets integrated and you're larger or more developed than Cardassia. :/
So the cardies just declared war on the trill. I was able to select the option to intercede, which then allowed me to place a claim on the Bajoran system. Unfortunately the trill settled with a status quo before i could carve up the cardies. So now i gotta wait 10 years and ill see if i can declare war and claim the system otherwise ill try option 2, Building up a tonne of starbases and stockpile alloys. Delete all my fleets and hope the cardies take advantage of my weakness and declare war. Then i spam all my shipyards.

Got the same problem. In the first Cardassian - Romulan war I joined with the Romulans and got a claim on Bajor and a system near it. In the second was unable to claim either, but planning on doing so in the third and I am attempting to provoke them with spies and envoys., where I hope they will attack me.
Well the borg put a stop to my plan. Had a bug that meant I couldn't take down any cubes in the last node, so had to make a dash for the 12 civics to end the game before getting wiped. Anyone know why during a defensive war i can put down claims then after the war i can ratify the claim, which actually looks to remove it?

This only works if you manage to get into war with Cardies. My play through they didn't declare war on me as I over powered them with Tech.

No matter what I tried I couldn't get them to transfer the systems via "Dipolmacy" as stated as a big thing in the trailer. Unless I somehow missed something. I could get them to the point of starting a liberation war, however that early in the game their fleet was massive compared to mine.
Didn't seem right that they could integrate them like that so quickly.

Feds can claim - I think their limit is 2 at the start? You open the diplomacy window, and click "ratify claims", then click the Bajor system.
