matchsticks is exactly what it says on the tin (or matchbox): you have to move, remove or add matches to solve various puzzles. I'm sure everybody's ran into something like this in their life. I'm not particularly fond of this puzzle type, and that's putting it mildly, but the attention to detail presented on the store page (so I didn't even have to ask around) led me to give it a shot, if only to spread the word a little.

60 levels unlocked one by one, most of them are the usual number/triangle/square situation, but there are some more creative ones. moving the chair from one side of the table to the other, removing dirt from a shovel, etc. there's a move limit for every level and no undo, but most only take a few moves, so it's not a dealbreaker here. still, it wouldn't hurt to have. no need to manually rotate matches either, as they automatically snap to the grid. it would be better if you could admire your solutions before moving on to the next level, I sometimes had to go back to check why the apparently accidental solution worked.

the presentation is really nice and the 3 themes aren't just color changes either. one's on a desk, the other outside, the third even has some food. I didn't like the music, but separate volume settings are available, along with a couple of languages, help and level select screens. they're all accessible while playing a level as well, and windowed mode got patched in eventually, a smaller non-resizable window. the unnecessarily long company logo on startup also became skippable, though only with space or esc, clicking doesn't work.

it's a great little puzzler, not too long and probably not too difficult (it was for me, had to look a bunch up, but I suck at these), pretty much perfect for what it is. I wouldn't mind more coffee break club games exploring other puzzle types.

Excellent matchstick puzzle game. Looks pretty, sounds pretty, plays pretty. 16 achievements; all but one unlocked by just finishing the game. To unlock the secret / hidden achievement play level 57 twice figuring out 2 different solutions. Fun, right level of difficulty, and very affordable - more so if you wait for a sale. Sadly, no cards... maybe some day?

Wow! It's hard to describe how I liked this game in a few words. The way you added the classic "matchsticks" mechanics to a digital game is perfect, I felt like when I was a child playing with the matchsticks puzzles on the dinner table with my parents. The music and sound effects are amazing as well, everything is in a perfect harmony! And how about the art? Wow, I'm in love with the art. It's so cute and also, 3 beautiful different backgrounds, how can I choose just one?? I loved it! Its a really nice puzzle, so relaxing and challenging at the same time. Looking forward to see more :D

A really nice matchstick moving/adding/removing game with 60 levels to solve.

There were a couple of levels with a bit questionable instructions how to solve them (level 14 bothered me and the ones that say the squares must be connected) but other than that it was a pleasant and relaxing experience.

Works without any issues on Linux with Proton (7.0-6).

Very fun, and relaxing puzzle game. Interesting to find something like this translated digitally. 10/10 would play with matchsticks and never burn myself again.

This isn't the first level where a valid solution wasn't accepted. Also for the love of god don't allow moves that aren't allowed on that particular puzzle (ie you shouldn't be allowed to move matches already on the puzzle on levels where you're supposed to add or remove etc.)
Otherwise very charming. PLS FIX THO

The puzzles are pretty fun.

This is something that could be (and has been) done as a book, and does not require any elaborate programming. However, as an app it does provide more convenience than paper and pencil, and the user interface gets the job done. There is no undo, but there is a puzzle reset. Since most puzzles require 4 or less moves (with a few exceptions), that really isn't a problem.

The classical matchsticks puzzle game. Very relaxing and addicting.
