Will there be a more indept video of the ships & ship designs in the game? If so will you also reveal the cannon designs - Culverin - Long barrels etc, as we can do & see in the previous Sea dogs games, such as Sea dogs 2 (Potc 2003) Where the pound on the cannon could change your ship weight, range, angles to hit, accuracy and of course penetration values.
Hope to see more ideas implemented as you have already shown in previous videos.
Keep up the great work, and your beloved community is waiting for it's release!
There have been a few questions I've seen a few members asking and I was wondering if I could put a few to you:
1. Will there be a survival aspect to the game? I'm not talking hard-core chores, because obviously this is not a survival game. But you say there is a day/night cycle, so basic things like eating and sleeping to increase your health would be nice, and many games these days include these type of aspects for a bit more realism/challenge.
2. The Jungle looks great, will it be fully explorable? The option to fully enter the jungle to hunt treasure or ruins would be great. Maybe even foraging for food or plants for medicine would be amazing.
3. Will there be an option to have NPC companion's either on land or at sea? If yes, would that include having your own fleet of ships or fighting larger land battles?
4. What will the economy look like in the game? I understand trading or pirating will be the main ways to make money, but will there be any other revenue streams? For example, can you hunt or fish to sell, or maybe aquire skills such as lumberjacking to chop trees for wood? Maybe even acquiring businesses to run, like in Mount & Blade.
5. Following on from the above, will there be an option to buy a house or have courtship/marriage in the game? Even better, could you govern an entire island if you become powerful enough?
6. Will there be any crafting in the game? For example, being marooned on a desert island if you lost a sea battle, and having to build a raft to get back to civilisation. Maybe even having to craft certain plants for medicine.
There are many other questions I have, but I'm sure you have other thing to do so I'll leave it at that for now.
I would just lastly like to say, you are doing a fantastic job and many members I speak to will gladly buy the game when it enters early access. Just, please don't be tempted by people willing you to go down the mystic/magic path. There are literally hundreds of magical games out there to satisfy those people, if you listen to them, they will abandoned your game as soon as the next big mystical game appears.
You are producing an awesome-looking Pirate simulation, you can literally count on one hand the amount of other Pirate simulations out there that don't wander into the realms of fantasy. Stick with realism, and your fanbase will stick with you.
