I've been able to feed well more than 5500 people, although not full variety. I wasn't doing Treats, and not much Fruit, and all Corn went to making Ethanol. But it's definitely possible.
I'll try that in future.
I tried two Food Markets with trucks and the second one was ignored. Will try with belts
Hop on Discord and chat with people who run 100,000 people islands with all foods and find out!
Part of that is just because I like to see 99 months of food in the UI, but also because I've assumed that at one point one Food Market isn't enough.

The stuff in the top/middle right is composting and medical supplies, and there are something like 98 farms (was running +40% on farms for that playthrough, IIRC, so would need closer to 150 on normal settings).
4x market mk2 for each food type, plus 2x WH4
EDIT: you will need some dedicated meat trimming factories (turning chickens directly into trimmings instead of meat+trimmings), especially until all of your buffers are full
