Simply not fun without "No Fail"....
I've been playing Ugly Baby for a while now, since before this new UI took place and the new gamemode. I unfortunately must admit that I am playing it less and less now as compared to months ago. Before, I thought that the only issue with the game was that the whole "black-and-white if you're not doing well" thing needed to be changed so that you could just float through a cool, colorized 3D world. Now it seems that I've got my wish with an unintended side effect; you can fail songs and have them quit out.

I don't even understand why this is the only option. Maybe it's just me as a consumer and not necessarily a video game developer, but if I had this beautiful looking game, I wouldn't suck all the fun out of it by being forcefully booted out of it if I wasn't able to thread the needle when I was supposed to. There aren't any in-game clues to tell you what you should be doing either, so you're forced to go back and replay the tutorial every time just to catch a refresher.

If there's one thing I genuinely do enjoy, it's the fact that all the levels are named after Boston and its suburbs. Pretty cool to pretend you're playing in a futuristic vision of your home city. I still enjoy Ugly Baby - even if it's now only on occasion - and am still looking forward to each update.

I love Dejobaan.

But, just an idea, for a third mode, make it so that a single hit on anything in a level ends the run, and call it "realism". Cause thats what we need in a game about diving through a floating cityscape far in the future as a blind skydiver, is more realism. /sarcasm

I think a HARDCORE mode would be a nice single hit thing. Some people would enjoy it. Others would not, and they would not do it.

I like the new feature of being able to fail levels but I feel it could be a bit more lenient, as if you're playing through a long song 3 hits isn't a lot. Maybe make these rechargable as you accumulate certain amounts of points or something?

Even a flat out sandbox mode would be more fun than what's in place now. A sincere gesture of appreciation to Dejobaan for being so diligent in responding to his community, by the way.

I would play this game a heck of a lot more with more diffuculty options. This is seriously a favorite game of mine but getting booted out of a game is just not fun..
