stuttering when crashing destructible walls/fences
The game used to be very smooth but now all of a sudden every time I crash into some piece of destructible fence or vegetation the loading circle appears at the bottom right and micro stutter happens.

Benchmark tool doesn't show any stutters. It doesn't happen when drinving around and not crashing into destructible objects.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've found a fix (kinda, at least for the stuttering part).
Go to ...\ForzaHorizon5\media\Physics then open SmashableObjectTypes.xml with a notepad, delete everything inside and save.
This got rid of 99% of stutters however it also removed associated sounds, so all the sound when colliding with objects are gone (idk is it an audio issue then? lol).
After clearing this file i still got very occasional stutters, so to completely get rid of them i also deleted everything inside BreakEffects.xml - it also removes another chunk of audio, but finally 0 stutters. Perhaps not all of these lines are necessary to remove but it doesnt bother me and testing them all would take too long.
Maybe there is an easier or more obvious fix but im kinda clueless and i just bruteforced this solution.
- not relevant anymore, just replace this file after every patch to fix, afaik it doesnt affect the game in any way

it looks like game trying to load sounds instantly on impact instead of keeping them in RAM

I had to come here just to say that you seem to be on the right path. It's not necessarily anything to do with the audio, but more along the lines of trying to update your personal record every single time you smash an object. I tried the first thing you suggested, the SmashableObjectTypes edit, and that immediately fixed almost all of my stuttering without actually removing the audio of me hitting the objects. That tells me that it's more to do with the game registering that the object is broken, rather than playing the audio associated with it.

After doing some more testing, it appears as though it's attempting to update your personal records for things like Lumberjack, Smactus, etc. When you edit, the SmashableObjectTypes, you no longer can get the bonuses for things like hitting bonus barrels or trees; just normal "Wreckage" instead of the "Bonus Barrel" or whatever.
