Refuses to run on Windows 10?

Just bought it in the Summer sale and Steam says it's running for 1-2s before it says I'm not, no app ever launched.

I also have the game disc from way back and it not longer works. I tried the fix shown by the above link but it didn't work. I don't know if I did something wrong or what.

Are you using the CD or a version downloaded from steam?

Even if it is German, it should be visually clear enough to just follow what i am doing there. When it still dont Works, write a comment UNDER the Video. Only THAN im able to ask someone other to help you guys, when it DONT works.

guys the post about the German downloading worked for me and just downloaded this game here....i hate tht i had to buy a game i have already on CD because of windows ten . never again will i upgrade a windows program unless i know the 100's of game i have play on it.

I bought this game today on a sale, and saw faced this issue. So basically, we bought a game because we didn't want to use the cracked on, and they we needed to solve the problem by cracking the original game. That's an apsurd.

I'm thinking of asking for a refund, and I might give it a try with GOG. By the way, I'm pretty sure Ubisoft could easily solve this problem. If the workaround for us to crack it, then why don't they simply remove the protection for the Steam version.

To be honest, this wouldn't make the cracking any easier to anybody. If somebody wants a cracked game, they would just download it, crack it by a simple copy/paste, and move on. So they accomplish nothing by not removing the protection.

And yes, I blame Microsoft. Not Ubisoft, though I hope Ubisoft would jump in, and do what I described.

Also, to be clear, just not to have any problem with Steam guys. I do not encourage anybody to pirate games, if you like a game, buy it, and that is the exact reason why I dislike people needed to basicaly crack their games so they could keep playing their genuine copies of the game.

i made it works by downloading the link shown in a Russian "guide" http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1311799303 (see "yadi" link) and copying the extracted files in "bin" in the game repertory. Then start the game with the file with the shorter name

if the game needs altering or re coding in anyway then it SHOUDNT be sold on steam.
yes there are work arounds, but it should but upto the distributor/developer to make sure their product works on newer system, otherwise remove from general sale.
