Xbox One Controller Issue
So Im trying to begin my play through of all the Assassins Creeds on PC but whenever using my xbox one controller during the initial tutorial at the very beginning when it's showing you have to run and move etc it doesn't show the actual xbox buttons and also when pressing in on the right analog stick it brings up the pause menu....

I'm really not wanting to have to wait to purchase an Xbox One again to play through all of the titles and repurchase all of the ones I currently have again.

Does anyone have any work arounds or ideas.

Sadly this game has a lot of control problems, this being one of them. The controls are really wacky, and I don't remember if you can change them in the settings. Hopefully you can find a fix.

If you do have to purchase an xbox one, why would you repurchase all of the games you already have. Just play through AC1 on it, than go back to PC.
I have played this game on my Xbox 360 in the past and would prefer using an Xbox One controller as well on PC. When I went to controls, there apparently is a Xinput(Xbox) controller option where you can rebind the keys.

First thing I did was try to bind the keys according or as close to the original controls of my Xbox controller. I used the manual for the Xbox 360 version as a guide.

A lot of the controls seem to bind similarly except for the Right and Left triggers. For some reason, when clicking both triggers it doesn't register as a possible binding option. Otherwise all the buttons on my Xbox One gamepad seems to work.

I used the RB(High Profile) and LB(Target Lock) to bind the commands normally given to the RT and LT on the Xbox 360 gamepad in the original Xbox 360 game as well as the press the LS down option(normally LB) for the Chase Camera command. The RB is unassigned in the normal game so you don't lose any function by assigning it the High Profile commmand.

Anyways here is what I used based on the manual
Use left stick to bind movement
Use right stick to pan camera
Use d pad to bind weapon inventory in this order described as hat switch on the PC version:
Up Hidden Blade
Down Fists
Left Short Blade and Throwing Knives
Right Sword
Button 1 or B(Xbox) Open or Empty Hand
Button 2 or X Weapons or Armed Hand
Button 3 or Y Head
Button 0 or A Feet or Legs
Button 4 Press LB (normally LT on Xbox) Target Lock
Button 5 or RB(normally RT on Xbox) High Profile
Button 6 or Left arrow Map
Button 7 or Right Arrow or Start Button Pause
Button 8 Press LS down Chase Camera
Button 9 Press RS down Center Camera

A controller is preferable to a mouse and keyboard in this kind of game because of the more precise movement controls of the analog sticks which helps mimic parkour movements better.

The Director's Cut version has additional content including 4 PC exclusive investigative missions and is also more streamlined.
It also allows you to increase the resolution to 4K.
