Crafting station

Okay, maybe I'm just blind but I can't figure out how to use the crafting stations. I'm standing next to them and I have the required energy for the upgrade but the 'craft' button is just grey.
What am I missing?

You need enough Timebank energy (which you accumulate by ending a turn with a few moves left) after getting the upgrade, you can then rewind.
