Not sure what you mean by disable steam input. You can change control options ect, but its a handheld device, its a build in controller. Ive tried messing around with various control options and layout but it doesnt seem to help with input lag. I was mostly posting this to warn people who might be considering this game for the steam deck since its marked as Playable ( it used to be marked as verified, actually )
Such a thing does not apply to the Steam Deck, though.
Also, remember to change the game's UI Button Type layout depending on what controller one is using. The first one is for the Xbox controller, and the second one is for the PS5.
Yeah my comments are specifically for steam deck users where this doesn’t apply. At the time I posted this the game was “verified for steam deck” but it absolutely shouldn’t be as the input latency is atrocious for this specific game. All the other 20 or so games I’ve been testing with it have been fine, it’s just this one that has a really bad issue to the point where I isn’t playable, so it is an issue with the game and not the deck itself.
Input lag aside I can get this game to run above 30 fps
You can with FSR but its kinda blurry and ♥♥♥♥ looking. The game overall just isn't very good on the steam deck (or with a controller on PC in general really.) i dont know why its marked as playable when it def isnt what id consider playable.
Was this game only tested with one of the high-storage models, or otherwise only in Docked mode? And for that matter, have any users in the thread compared Docked versus Undocked performance?
Plugging in the deck does not increase its performance. It isn't a nintendo switch.
Ahh alright. I've never plugged it into an external display, as i have a desktop PC for that. So I am not sure what the performance is like but i'd imagine its awful if its already really poor at the low resolution.
Greetings once again. Quick question: Have you also tested it after turning the Steam Deck's Wi-Fi Power Savings setting Off and power cycling the Deck?
Some anecdotal evidence of it helping to solve this in other games was found.
I've tried lots of stuff, including using Proton GE to see if it helps. It's the same issue if you try to play the game with a controller on PC, you get huge latency. The game doesn't run well on the deck but the biggest issue is that the controls suffer massive latency, and it isnt exclusive to the deck, its if you use a controller at all.
