Demo v0.13.0 (0281) patch notes - 9/7/2023
Reality Break Demo build v0.13.0 (0281) has gone live!

Courtney's dev notes: This is a smaller update that focuses on bug fixes, along with a handful of Quality of Life improvements and Balance changes. I appreciate the feedback I'm receiving on the demo and am incorporating 100% of it into my notes for consideration about future improvements to the demo and shipped game.

Quality of Life
  • Made several early campaign mission maps 10%-20% more compact, with slightly higher enemy density. (Courtney's note: I want to speed up the first Cycle slightly so that players can get to the good stuff faster, and this is the first step toward that goal.)
  • Added a new option to control the visibility of damage flyouts: All, Crits, or None.
Balance
  • Loadout Synergy talents have been reduced in effectiveness: 1% max crit chance per item (down from 5%) and 10% max crit damage bonus per item (down from 25%).
  • Loadout Synergy talents no longer require a matching item specialization.
Audio
  • Added a chonkier sound effect for player ship missile explosions.
Bug fixes
  • fixed Codex and Rewrite dialogs not being mutually exclusive
  • fixed Epic Stabilizers item Side Lash applying to a deprecated skill instead of to Multishot
  • fixed Epic Sensors item Vivisector becoming stuck in its equip slot, preventing other Sensors from being equipped
  • fixed Epic Swarmer item Salvo projectiles not acquiring homing targets in-flight like other Swarmers do
  • fixed several Damage Reduction calculations so that stacking certain items, skills, and talents doesn't break the combat equation
  • fixed stats that are capped becoming stuck in their capped state permanently (Courtney's note: This was the main cause of various problems with Envelop.)
  • fixed being able to interact with Station and Specialist while they are suppressed for story reasons
  • fixed rewritable Drawbacks on item unique affixes not displaying their current rewritten status correctly
  • fixed cosmetic bug where damage flyouts were showing incorrect values at extreme damage numbers
  • fixed enemy ships taking far too much damage from collisions with the player's ship
  • fixed shield text not showing up on ship HUD when the ship dialog was opened

Thank you for the updates.
I have unlocked "AGRESSIVE ENGAGEMENT" and "STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE" tier 2 but I do not know how to change difficulty.
In game at the top I see "Difficulty level 1" but I do not understand how to change it.
I am obviously missing something.
I LOVE this game and I look forward to the FULL RELEASE so I can spend the rest of my points on HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS.

Hi phlogistan, nice to hear from you again and thank you so much for the compliments! As for your question, you can click on the little blue banner that shows "1" in it on your pilot display in the main menu screen. There should have been a tutorial box -- did you perhaps disable tutorials in your playthrough? If not, there may be a bug. I should make that much more obvious as a clickable button though.
